One of a Kind...

After she saw the 3rd corporate "campus" with beehives, she realized that she is qualified for a job that nobody has ever thought of - corporate pollinator consultant!

If companies are going to have big lawns, and ponds, and flower beds, they may as well put some pollinators in there to keep it all regenerating and... real - right?

So now she travels about, visiting corporate campuses (a term she really doesn't love), helping get beehives installed, and advising the gardening company about replacing plants. Strictly ornamental isn't nearly as sensible as something that's both decorative AND good for the environment...

Please note - there is NO WAY that I can include truly seasonal clothes right now, since they're all marked down, and sizes are limited, colors are sold out etc. etc. Retail seasons do NOT correspond to the world...

The only thing she's sure of - she's going to pack these bracelets! Other than that, she's not sure, yet...

Her favorite neutral is navy... Navy goes well with both of these accent colors! The bracelets have grey in them, but she doesn't wear grey...

But white goes with everything, and she loves to wear navy and white together! Maybe she has her color palette?

She's the Only One... Well, the only one she knows! When someone wants to purchase a painting - or paintings - that include horses, she's the expert...

She's off for a few days to visit a new race course; they want the Private Lounge to have a modern, but still equestrian, feel...

She's going to try to encourage them to buy some more modern art; she's not at ALL sure that she will be successful!

Her approach is going to be relaxed, and she will try to emphasize that these paintings aren't at ALL edgy. Many of them are over 100 years old - that's not exactly cutting edge!

Three more heroines with unique wardrobes, and unique shopping goals!

When we last visited her wardrobe, our heroine had lovely colors, and some great clothes, BUT...

She has no shorts! (yes, for some of us that isn't a problem!) She only has 5 black garments, and black is supposed to be her core neutral, and she bought a lovely pink cardigan, and did NOT buy the matching vest... (please note, Alex Mill is having a sale! That's not something they often do.)

So she shops! Black sandals and a black tote are logical items for her to have FOREVER, and a black bracelet with a heart that matches her heart earrings and necklace just plain makes sense.

Part 2: Pantone London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2023-24

Finally, I'm getting around to sharing the 2nd 5 of the London Fashion Week colors!

I've been thinking a lot about how one chooses their core neutral color - what if you chose it based on your favorite accent colors? Maybe you're really drawn to black, but your favorite accent color looks... wrong with black, to you.

Would it be wrong to put the accent colors cart(s) before the neutral color horse(s)?

Let's look at each of these 5 colors with black:

and with navy - almost identical garments, and I'm going to show them in the same positions etc....

Yellow and black? One either really likes it, or hates it!

And yellow and navy will forever feel like high school to me!

Regardless of your feeling about royalty, or coronations, let's suspend judgment and enjoy this beautiful scarf!

Shamrocks, daffodils, roses and thistles!

I decided that our heroine is going to use navy as her packing neutral, and draw all of her accents from her lovely scarf:

A Dilemma, of Sorts... Our heroine's still not sure how long she will be able to travel for the Coronation - at this point, she may only be able to be away for 1 night!

Ah, the timeless beauty of pink and navy!

I think these colors are timeless and flattering to most of us too!

The Big Challenge She never knows if it will be nice and toasty warm or damp and nippy...

So she brings her swimsuits, as well as long underwear for sleeping! Best be ready for a range of temperatures...

And for non-aquatic activities, she packs this:

One really doesn't need to pack a ton of things for a weekend; you need to get dressed on Saturday and Sunday, and maybe Monday if you're really stretching your time off!

The cardigan and long pants make almost everything else in her wardrobe useful, even on cold days! Warm socks are never wrong, too!

Let's do this again, only differently!

Some different accent colors, and navy as our neutral!

She doesn't make it up to the lake EVERY weekend of the warm weather, but she is probably there at least 2 out of 3...

For no good reason she can offer to anyone, she wants to wear navy this weekend!

This wardrobe is exactly the same size as her wardrobe from Monday, but it's also entirely different! What fun...

As with her earlier weekend wardrobe, our heroine has plenty of options for a 3 day break...

Isn't this lovely?

I'm realizing that it's entirely possible to use a painting (or any other image or object, frankly) as inspiration for a wardrobe even if that image doesn't include your core neutral!

I know, I should have realized this years ago...

Here's how I'm showing this; note the navy outlines in the color wheel...

Frankly, this wardrobe only includes 3 navy pieces out of the 9 total - that's a small number of neutral garments!

And this wardrobe only has a pair of jeans and a pair of shorts for bottoms; this is a heroine who's going to be spending a lot of time in her swimwear, so this works out for weekends...

But first, she has to drive up to the lake!

I know a lot of us are doubtful about this wardrobe, but I'm still really liking it...

Our heroine realized that there's a simple navy shirt that matches her navy skirt - that seems like a really logical purchase! And while she's stocking up on obvious basics, she has neither an olive tee shirt NOR an olive cardigan...

Toss in the world's most amazing scarf, a tote bag and some ballet flats to wear with her new navy "dress" and she's all set!

Her wardrobe is very disciplined, but still has plenty of possibilities:

Our heroine is happy wearing muted colors, unless it's a day during which she wants to wear something bright! You can have both in your wardrobe, of course.

A sweatshirt for travel, as well as a cozy scarf, is rarely a bad idea - especially if you're traveling in an air-conditioned vehicle...

She's only going away for the weekend, but she never knows ahead of time if she's going to be in the aquamarine, subdued, calm mood, or in the bright yellow, outgoing and active mood. Not a problem - she's prepared for both:

Let's revisit the friend who has lost her wardrobe; she wants to start to rebuild with this scarf as her inspiration:

But accessories! She still has a pair of sandals, and her sunglasses, as well as the earrings she was wearing when they were away and their house was destroyed...

I don't have a clear plan - I'm going to assemble 10 typical outfits from this wardrobe and make certain that she can wear those outfits with appropriate extras. Most important are certainly shoes and a bag or two, in my thinking...
