Five Accent Colors with Five Neutrals

Ah, the last 5 Pantone colors from New York Fashion Week! Just to make things interesting, I brought along five different neutral color "clusters" to test-drive with these VERY varied colors...

To me, this peachy color cried out for some camel...

And I think these are perfect together!

For about the ten thousandth time, if you look good in yellow - WEAR IT! It's not easy to wear for some of us, and it's such a great accent...

I'm picturing this heroine living somewhere that's warm most of the year, so her favorite neutral is white:

I think this is lovely - the top outfit, on a rainy day, with the right coat and umbrella, would cheer up everyone you saw!

Japanese 24 Seasons of the Year – Kanro Cold Dew

Last Friday, about lunch-time, the temperature started to drop. Just like that - we went from "well, it may warm up later" to "don't forget your gloves..."

It could bounce back, but I have a hunch that autumn is really here!

Are your options for layering warm clothes ready for this sudden arrival?

Some of us wear classic colors - there's no combination more timeless than navy with red...

Just because your favorite neutral is grey doesn't mean that you MUST buy a grey coat or vest...

Frost can be beautiful... it's like a sugar glaze on everything.

If the primary purpose of your casual outerwear is to attend sporting events, why not wear the team colors?

1 Dress 100 Days: Days 37 and 38

The problem is actually in my back, but the pain is in my knee? I'm not a doctor...

Our weather has finally gotten consistently cool, so I think that I will be wearing lots of black tee shirts or turtlenecks under my dress - sort of like wearing a black long-sleeved dress. Lots of 2nd layer possibilities!

You'll notice that Ruskin's Meadow color scheme has received a necessary update...

Mauve was the request; mauve is the addition! It's interesting to see how 3 tops and a pair of earrings bring a very different look to this wardrobe:

It's all much brighter now, which means that our heroine has new options for getting dressed:

Her accessories are still mostly green, but she's now got those lovely pink earrings...

How might this heroine wear her new mauve tops?

Good heavens, I forgot about yesterday! It was a pretty regular day - marled black and white tee shirt under my black dress, with my trusty stud earrings, and ballet flats when I wandered around the building...

Busy catching up with a million little projects, as well as our regular blog posts. It's really warm in our apartment today; we face east, and have huge windows - when it's sunny out, it's warm in, no matter what time of year!

1 Dress 100 Days: Days 30 and 31

I just got to type the word October! Hallelujah!!!

Yesterday, we road-tripped west a couple of hours to visit a LOVELY area call A Better Place Forest. It's for interring cremation remains - under trees! Brilliant...

And today, I'm mostly working. I will probably go out and wheel my mom around someplace pretty, when I get some things done... (chambray shirt is UNDER my magic dress today)

I'm still loving my dress; yesterday in the forest I managed to attract about 100,000 burrs, which I pulled off over a period of hours. No damage done - a quick hand-wash and we're all good!
