Someone asked me to suggest a few outfits to go with the lovely Les Parisiens scarf. Build a Capsule Wardrobe Starting with a scarf: Hermès Egypte in bright green

I received a question about what could be worn with a specific Hermes scarf - one with a lot of brown, beige and camel tones in the center, and a bright green border. My suggestions include all of the shades of brown, gold, white, and navy, which is always so nice with bright green...And a lot of these clothes come from J. Crew. I've been spending a LOT of time lately in the local J. Crew store, gift shopping, and I've found that they stock a large number of nice-quality basic garments. Maybe not to your taste, or your budget, but certainly they are good "thought-starters".

Still evolving the same packing which started with my honeymoon, I'm now thinking of a trip where you're leaving a cooler climate (maybe early autumn in northern climes) and heading south. Brown keeps your grounded in the September or October mood, but still lots of soft coral colors to enjoy your vacation destination!Tomorrow is the last installment of this particular theme and variations; I'll be using the color of the year - tangerine!!! A Travel Capsule Wardrobe – Packing in Navy, with brown accessories & warm colors

I've been receiving LOTS of questions about wearing navy clothing with brown shoes, and "warm" colors. This seems like it could be tricky, since navy is pretty much a cool color, but men have been making this combination of cool and warm work for decades, and it always looks great! My suggestions:

make sure your "navies" go together - navy can vary widely. Either buy all pieces at one time (ambitious, to be sure!), buy them from the same designer (equally ambitious), or plan to carry or wear a couple of navy items when you shop, so that you can be certain that your current garments will work with new purchases. feel free to experiment with any warm color as an accent.
