Chic Sighting: Burlington Massachusetts Mall

Sigh... My trip wasn't really fruitful, in terms of Chic Sightings. Midway Airport in Chicago is NOT the place to look for fashion icons...But I was in the Burlington Mall on Sunday, and saw a lovely young woman - long blond hair, no makeup, radiant smile, and this colorful ensemble. She looked comfortable and happy, and it didn't hurt that she was with a very attractive young man!

A chic sighting, and some thinking

This very lovely young lady works in the building where I live. While the jeans and sweater were very simple, the shoes demonstrated that she had put some thought into what she was wearing, and didn't just throw something together. At her age, and with her level of natural beauty, she could have been wearing a sack and looked striking. But with this level of style self-awareness, she's going to be just as elegant in 40 years as she is right now...

Chic sightings: LaGuardia International Airport

One common characteristic that all of these women shared: a sense of planning. They weren't over-burdened with a bunch of stray bags, they knew where their ID and boarding pass were, their hair was neat and clean, they wore modest but attractive makeup, they just didn't appear to be frazzled and out of control. Michigan Avenue Style Lab: Navy pea coats

I don't see very many pea coats, which is a shame, because they can be quite attractive. Just in the last week I've seen two, both of which were accessorized with colors relatively near to navy on the color wheel.
