Lest anybody assume that the eight-piece core wardrobe is only for a dressy office environment, I offer up a core wardrobe that is pretty much my standard uniform through the winter. To this mix you can toss in an argyle cardigan, a couple of white tee shirts, and a black and white striped sweater, and that covers me (literally) for anything outside of work except the most extraordinarily dressy dinners. Enjoy!
I'm toying with the idea of how a wardrobe would be built around one garment - a statement or investment piece. Any requests? Just leave me a comment! love, Vivienne ... View the Post
The wardrobes just keep getting harder! The request for this wardrobe was: "I am a short, graying brunette in her early 60’s woman who lives in the South (think 4 seasons with an emphasis on hot & humid but occasional snow/ice). I think Katherine Hepburn with more colors would be my inspiration. Casual, few skirts/dressy itesm, but chic. I love the colors of the sunset and sky plus silver/pewter jewelry with black, charcoal or dark jeans as the neutral."
So I focused on the colors of the sky and the sunset... enjoy!
Some cool, roomy linen pieces, a couple of dressier options, and always a sweater for colder weather...

The lovely Kate asked for a wardrobe "rich medium brown, tan/caramel/cognac, and army green. For the colors any mix of light olive green, mustard yellow, orange, teal, plum, and terra cotta.". This one doesn't include all of those, but it's a start. And there are more autumn hued wardrobes under construction, so stay tuned! And thanks, so much, for your request.
Remember, if there's something special you'd like to see in a wardrobe, just leave me a comment and I'll put it on the list!

Friday afternoon I was waiting for my esteemed partner to leave the office so we could begin our weekend adventures together, and while I was waiting, I saw a woman wearing exactly the same tee shirt I had on.
My outfit was basically the one on the left. Hers is on the right.
She had worked in an office all day. I had been home job hunting.
I feel like I'm doing something very wrong....
But the bright side of this is how very versatile a taupe tee shirt can be! That was the lesson that I've taken away from this encounter.
Now I've got to figure out if I'm overdressing for the current job market. ... View the Post
