When I see the ocean, it is NOT at the beach - it's more Humboldt County, California, or the west coast of Ireland, or the coast of Maine. Warm, sunny days, cool evenings, and a gray and damp day every now and then, where you spend the day sitting by the fireplace... This Four by Four Capsule Wardrobe gives you options for any kind of shoreline...

And essential accessories.
I'm not necessarily saying that you need to run out and buy your entire summer wardrobe from L.L.Bean - I use these clothes as an example of what's possible. But if you're a sturdy New Englander, with a fondness for classic, ... View the Post

This is primarily a very casual wardrobe, with only one skirt, and one dressy blouse. There are some flowers, and some lace, and the obligatory Spring 2012 pair of "fashion color" pants... Enjoy! ... I know that nobody can go out and buy twenty new items of clothing, so I've been trying to think of how someone would begin the process of building a curated, distilled wardrobe. Of course, it really has to start with some serious thinking! But once you've chosen a core color from which to work, you could certain do worse than carefully acquiring a basis of eight garments upon which to build. This is how I see it taking shape... ...
