Packing: Camel, grey, & scarves

I get a LOT of questions about what to wear with specific scarves.  It's really easy to walk into a store (not necessarily Hermes!), fall into temporary insanity over a scarf, and take it home...  where it languishes unworn and unloved.  These kinds of questions are among my favorites; I'm a long-time believer that nothing can elevate the look of simple clothes like some "silk jewelry."   And I'm growing very infatuated with camel & grey...

Building a Capsule Wardrobe by Starting with a Scarf: Hermes Reve de Corail

I get LOTS of questions about what to wear with scarves - many people seem to feel that they're not wearing their scarves as often as they should.  So I'm going to walk you through what I think of, when I see a scarf for which someone wants suggestions.First, the obvious way to wear a scarf - match the colors!  Wearing a scarf with two differently colored garments can make it clear that this ensemble wasn't an accident.

33 = 208 (at least in my world!) with Capsule Wardrobe Project 333

You don't need to make teeny pictures in order to create a Project 333 capsule wardrobe for yourself; a list will do just fine...   It would, of course, be possible to print these images and then "check them off" as each ensemble was worn.  But the point, ultimately, is NOT to have an infinite number of different outfits, but rather to have just enough choices to be able to quit shopping and move on to more rewarding activities!   And of course, 208 is NOT exhaustive... but it would get me well into July, so I just plain quit finding new combinations.  I think after 6 months, I will be ready to ditch cashmere, tweed and ... Yes, I really don't like his skull things... but someone specifically asked me what to wear with the camouflage print in subtle beige, taupe, brown and a touch of peach; I couldn't resist these colors!  This is all about soft, subtle, with unexpected mixes of cool and warm colors.
