Our heroine the professional listener had great luck last month finding some brown clothes – maybe this month she will have luck with teal?
But first, let’s look at the painting which is her inspiration. The art will endure long after all of our wardrobes have been dispersed to the winds…
After she bought her dark brown garments last month, this is her (currently 36-piece) wardrobe:
And these are her accessories. I swear, I could wear the same clothes every day if I had the right accessories!
The morning of our heroine’s shopping adventure for September, she pulled out of her closet all of her greenish, teal-ish, aqua-ish clothes.
There’s one big gap – she doesn’t have a pair of pants in this color! Otherwise, it seems a reasonable assortment of accent garments:

Our heroine decided to take a look at Seasalt Cornwall… And found a ton of things she liked, that are just about the perfect color!

She pondered finding a pair of teal shoes, and she’s still not opposed to the idea. But she was pretty smitten with the possibilities of a brown shirtdress, and the brown shoes just called her name… That happens!
Is she sticking with her plan? I’d say so… She will need to pick up another top eventually, if she wants to fill in her 56-piece wardrobe template EXACTLY according to plan:
Her closet looks quite a bit brighter with this latest infusion of her accent color!
And her accessories are gorgeous!
When her new purchases are all in her home, she takes the time to launder things (wearing new clothes without laundering is icky – take it from someone who worked in retail for ages…) and then to try everything on with her existing clothes:
I could live for a long time with this wardrobe – maybe the highlights in my hair could be teal instead of purple?

Such a cohesive wardrobe. That new cardigan is wonderful. I love that this heroine chooses pretty, yet comfortable, shoes.
Yes, I’m seeing a lot of teal and blue-greens in the shops. I bought three pairs of teal trousers last year – thin jersey, thick jersey and a pair of cords. I’ve now got a good teal collection of tops, bottoms and dresses. I add in navy, grey, purple and pink. I regret selling a teal coat a few years ago which was too big for me after I lost weight.
While this is not my green, it is a beautiful color. I wish I could wear it! That being said, the striped Seasalt Cornwall striped cardigan is super duper tempting. I just love it! I do wear lots of chestnut brown, especially in this season, so it makes me want to fly to the UK to shop. Given that my other favorite store in the UK is Boden, I think I’d fit right in. I think my personal sense of style may well be more rural coastal British than rural coastal American!

This capsule is brilliant. Ivory with the mid browns and dark browns looks so posh! My friend wore an ivory jacket with dark brown pants golfing last week and she looked amazing. That cardigan is a winner. And if our felonies happens to spot shoes and/or a handbag in that greens, she can’t possibly pass them up.
However did autocorrect turn heroine into felonies? 😳🙄🙀😂 Is there an evil genie lurking in my keyboard? That’ll teach me to not to hit post until I proofread! (You’d think I would learn!)

I haven’t been able to post comments for a while, but I’d pick out the best pieces from this collection and the Nolde one (so, half of them).
The patterned skirt would definitely be included. I actually only opted for the skirt when I was in the store recently, even though there was a matching blouse (it had an odd cut).
Fantastic collection, I have bought a couple of these bits already.
These new pieces definitely makes it brighter and is becoming one of my favourite wardrobes for this year.

Curious, Janice. do you have numerous “days” that you are researching at any given time so that you can plug in an item even if it isn’t the most immediate need? hope this makes sense…..
It makes sense, but I don’t do it – I get too confused! Sometimes I try to make notes so that I will remember where I saw something, but I always find that if I try to use an item that I saw last week, it will be sold out in all of the good sizes. I won’t do that to my friends!

Janice, I bet you were excited to find that lovely striped cardigan. Three colours from the palette in the one garment! And it’s gorgeous.
Janice! This is SUCH a brilliant wardrobe. I could live in this wardrobe for the rest of my life. In fact, my current wardrobe shares many of these same colors in slightly different shapes. If I had the funds, I would buy every item you recommended today. One thought – I have added a mustard or chartreuse yellow as an accent.

I saw someone wearing the color combination of teal, brown, and off-white today and thought it was a nice combination of colors. Then I remembered were I saw it first.
I’m always a little bit thrilled when I see someone dressed in a color combination with which I’ve spent HOURS of time – I feel like I’m doing something right!
