Building a Capsule Wardrobe by Starting with a Scarf: Ted Baker’s Dreams Scope

She’s so smitten with the scarf that she decided to plan her entire trip around the colors she found in it!

Every Year

They go back to the little town in which their wedding took place. For the most part, it’s a very casual long weekend, spent walking around the lake, browsing in used bookstores, or maybe taking in an estate sale…

Cardigan – L.L.Bean; earrings – Eddie Borgo; watch – Movado;  loafers – Tod’s; scarf – Ted Baker; top – Uniqlo; pants – J. Crew Factory;  cross body bag – Zac Zac Posen; suitcase – Rimowa

But every year, on Saturday evening of their weekend together, they go back to the place where they were married. And they repeat their vows…

Another beautiful story. Are you sure you didn't miss your calling in short story fiction?
I love that dress. It looks like something one would have worn on a hot summer day in the '50s, before air conditioning, when all you had were shady porches and iced lemonade.

I'm with Cee Pluse above; these are not my colours nor is the dress a style that I can wear. Nevertheless, the story and the whole combination is very appealing and pleasing. I think your stories add a whole layer of resonance to your clothes plans. This lifts it from the other bloggers multifold.

Love this wardrobe! I wanted to get the scarf/cape in the same pattern for a long weekend trip for an Atlanta wedding in July. It turns out it was way out of my price range, but at least I had something to use for wardrobe planning.

These aren't even my colors and I still love this wardrobe. And the story is perfect. What a great way to start a Friday morning. Thank you!

I agree, too. Thank you Janice for showing the palette with four accent colors, since I couldn't downsize my palette more than that coming from rainbow of colors and no neutrals. Now with my new wardrobe I feel so different in a good way.

The stories give us (me) so many ideas for weekend treats. Even though it's hard for us to get away for a weekend, I can suggest an afternoon at the coast, a lunch-date for two, an art-house film followed by a glass of wine, a stroll round the weekend market … That alone is worth the reading time. But then there are the inspirational outfits!
Although I'm a 'warm' dresser, I've enjoyed being reminded about these lovely soft blues and pinks which can be integrated nicely with cream, beiges, browns, etc. I've tended always to think 'navy' or 'denim', for instance, but the dusty or pastel shades work so nicely.
