Flowers in a Crystal Vase by Edouard Manet – Inspiration for Tote Bag Travel

You’re a Soil Conservation Engineer?

“I can’t imagine spending all of my time working with dirt!”

It’s SOIL, not dirt…

Flowers in a Crystal Vase by Edouard Manet with style guidelines and color palette

“It just doesn’t seem like there would be that much to do – it’s dirt! It’s all over the ground! What else is there to know?”

Well, keeping it all from washing away into rivers, and thus into the ocean, is a good start…

“And you’re going on a business trip? What can there possibly be to talk about? Dirt isn’t really that interesting…”

But new ways to conserve and enrich soil can be fascinating, and it’s always great to be able to spend some time with people who share you passion for the SOIL…

“Something that’s really hard for me to understand – this just doesn’t seem like a very… feminine… line of work…”

Well, for 1 thing, there is no such thing as a feminine line of work! And secondly, nurturing, growing and cultivating are very maternal and womanly pursuits…

She’s really eager to meet her peers…. She loves her work!

And really, anybody who truly loves flowers as much as she does would only logically care about soil conservation, wouldn’t they?

This combination of colours is lovely, quite serene, nourishing even?

I really like this one and while it does look very feminine it also looks wonderfully relaxed and truly, "dressy/casual". And I love the socks – I always treat myself to new socks at the change of seasons and they make me smile on a dark dreary winer today like today!

    Janice,
I love the colors and the socks make me chuckle ! However , wearing the pink and green together would take a personality different from mine !

Fun wardrobe. Not quite my own colors but does give me ideas.

The most recent professional conference I've attended was a Soil, Food, Water, and Composting Summit in November! Female attenders definitely were in the pretty yet practical dress casual mode suggested here.

This is a favorite painting of mine. I have a book of his paintings of flowers in clear vases and this is one of them. I might go in the pink with olive direction which seems like something we see in the natural world quite often.

      Becky,
I would wear the pink with olive green, despite what I said above. Great idea !

This collection made me happy, I do not wear this much pink, but now I want pink jeans! I really should reconsider brown as a base colour.

Thank you, Janis. While not a "green/brown" person, I love the stories you tell! Always entertaining!

Oh dear, our lady had her work cut out with this gent, I hope he wasn't seated next to her in the plane, what a nightmare trip that would be! Love Manet's work and I guess wimpy old me would use a smidgen is of artistic license and tone down the pink and green for this sock season travel case.
Hope you're not too snowed out, Janice, hugs x.

Pink and green, a favorite color combo for my girls, never thought about for me! I really don't wear much pink but these pieces are great together! My kind of business casual! I love "fancy" socks! I have lots of them! Love the art too. :)

I always feel sorry for these ladies going off on their fantasy journeys, especially when they're going for work or to be alone. They seem to be surrounded by people who ask them really stupid questions. And are there really still people in the world who think a job is lady-like or not? I want to see these fantasy women fight back, because up till now, they've been really long-suffering in the face of idiocy. ;-)

I had to chuckle at the pink and green together. My winter capsule wardrobe is black, grey and pink, but I couldn't resist adding a few pieces of green. I never intended to wear the pink and green together, but now I just might!

And thanks for including pink jeans! I'm still considering buying some. And pink sneakers! I'm still looking for some.

And I love the fancy socks! Fancy socks make me smile every time I wear them.

Janice, you never cease to amaze me with your creativity and imagination, not to mention sourcing out all these wonderful pieces! Keep it up!
