A Colorful Moon by Alain Paillou – Start with Nature to Inspire a Tote Bag Travel Wardrobe

Once in a ….

She almost didn’t pick up the call when it came in; she didn’t recognize the number, but something told her that it was important…

It was the Probate Court down in the capital… She needed to come down because she was a beneficiary of her great-aunt’s estate…

And – oh yes – there was a check being FedEx’ed to her to offset her expenses. She was planning to take the train down, so she didn’t really expect to have expenses…

A REALLY BIG CHECK! With a note from her great-aunt telling her to spend it ALL on herself, and to really be silly about it…

Well okay, if that’s what she really wants, I must respect her wishes, right?

If this is the expense money, it’s anybody’s guess what the actual inheritance might be, eh?

Janice

Beautiful colour scheme, beautiful clothes! If the inheritance is that good, maybe she'll afford the lifestyle to go with the clothes? Linda M

Beautiful wardrobe. Just a note: wills are probated at the county level (says the genealogist who has looked at many a will. )

Maybe the state capital city is also the county seat, and has a train station. Like Baltimore, I am imagining, or Dover, or any of these northeastern-ish cities….? Wardrobe is fun and story is fun so as they say in Mystery Science Theater 3000, I should really just relax! 🙂

    Janice,
I am adoring these gentle colors , which would be perfect for me ! And the romance of a cape conjures up all kinds of wonderful stories ! I remember that it was another Paillou that I had been drawn to on another of your posts !

I have a question. Which of The Vivienne Files posts has the most comments? I'm wondering if a theme/color scheme keeps coming up as an audience favorite?

Almost certainly it was a post where I was giving away 3 Talbots gift cards for $100 each to 3 people who commented on the post. Not probably a fair comparison to other posts!

Funny, but just this morning I was thinking how much I hate khakis. I haven't owned any in years — I just don't feel good in them, no matter what I wear with them. Obviously NOT a good color for me! But this is a nice reminder that they look lovely in the right wardrobe. I am having the usual fun trying to imagine the khaki and apricot shades as something that flatters me — maybe gray and rose — and admiring your abilities with color and style.

I hate khakis too. Buy them, don't wear them. Maybe it's some casual Friday, office attire connection?

I also hate khakis/chinos but I do love wearing a khaki skort in the summer. I'm currently looking for khaki-colored skinny jeans or slim ankle pants that I'm hoping will offer the same versatility as the khaki skort – it goes with everything!

Those pants from Joseph look VERY different on the model. They are a wide leg trouser and seem to be overly long. I'm pretty sure this is a "look" I won't be adopting anytime soon. I do love the knit skirt though. It's such a pretty texture and a lovely way to wear winter white.

Oh she would look beautiful in these clothes. The colours are an interesting combination.
