Update….

October 24, 2024

I’m home – I was in the hospital, because it turns out that (1) I have COVID (which I certainly picked up when I went to the hospital the first time, to have my ribs checked…) and that (2) I have SEVEN broken ribs, not three. Turns out that broken ribs don’t show up as clearly on an X-Ray as they do on a CT scan.

But I don’t have pneumonia. And that’s important, and good. So I’m hanging onto that thought!

love,

Janice

Oh my goodness! Take care! I’ve noticed that these kinds of injuries and illness do happen after the passing of a mother or loved one we have cared for. I suffered a broken ankle, back injuries, a flu that lasted two months and then with a relapse – and then more. And so I, like others, said my prayers, rested, and then rebuilt. You have an army here of people who love you and will cheer you on. We will hang in there with you until you are fully strong enough to start posting again! ❤️

Someone thinks you should slow down and is making darn sure you do it!
I started encountering lots of health problems (most requiring physical therapy, but also high BP) in the year prior to and after my Mom’s passing. It has been 2 and a half years since she passed and I feel great! At the time, I thought I would never break through it, but time heals! Take all the time you need! The support of a loving husband sure helps!!!

    Dear Janice,
I wish you a full and gentle recovery. I also wanted to tell you about something I learned from you, which I am so grateful for. Just recently, I got a sweater(a turtleneck) in the color ‘cortena red’. I just love that color; it’s a kind of deep brownish rusty red and it could almost serve as burgundy, but it is a bit warmer. The new thing is, that this is my #2 clothing purchase in this color, as I have already gotten a dress in the same color from the same company. I would not have done that in the past. I would have told myself that it would be superfluous to get two things soo close to each other, and that I would get bored of them, and that I would have to chose which one to get. Now I know that they will be workhorses in my capsule wardrobe, and that they serve different needs. I also won’t end up with a lot of singletons in my closet and nothing to wear. Thank you so much.
