Instruments de Musique by Picasso, Revisiting for Summer 2018

July 6, 2018

Remember this beauty, from January and April?

1. Instruments sur un Gueridon with style guidelines and color palette

WHEN is the Signing?

She’s leaving on vacation – literally leaving tomorrow – when the call comes…

“Can you go to the signing, and then to the banquet?”

Sure, heck, why not…

“It’s the day you get back from vacation… We will pay for you to take an extra suitcase, and for your flight change to fly directly there…”

Well, THAT’S sweet of them…

So she plans to fly back in an outfit that will be acceptable no matter WHO she runs into in the airport, or the hotel:

2. black and white travel outfit

square earrings – Zales; top – Eileen Fisher; pendant – John Hardy; cardigan – Eileen Fisher; watch – Gomelsky; skirt – Eileen Fisher; briefcase – Coach; espadrilles – Free People; suitcase – Rockland

No exposed knees, nor toes…

Her suitcase contains serious clothes for the contract signings, a frivolous top to wear with a skirt to the dinner later that day, and an extra pair of pants and top because she’s NOT flying straight home the next morning. If you’re going to mess with her vacation, prepare for an extra day spent in a hotel somewhere…

3. six-pack in grey with orange, yellow and pink for business

cardigan – Banana Republic; necklace – Metropolitan Museum of Art ; square earrings – Jan D.; clutch bag – Rocio; pink top – Banana Republic; scarf – Nordstrom; orange shirt – Uniqlo; skirt – Lands’ End; flats – Arche; pants – Uniqlo; yellow top – 1901; pumps – Calvin Klein

Her complete travel wardrobe manages to look pretty coherent, even though 1 outfit is from vacation, and the rest is strictly for business:

4. travel capsule wardrobe in black, white and grey with pink orange and yellow

She won’t have to put a lot of though into what she’s going to wear…

5. 2 ways to wear a grey skirt from a travel capsule wardrobe6. 2 ways to wear a black skirt from a travel capsule wardrobe7. 2 ways to wear grey pants from a travel capsule wardrobe

Now, she just has to figure out how to shift from “vacation brain” to “hard-nosed business brain” in a hurry!

love,

Janice

Frivolous top! Indeed. I love it. Frivolous tops are severely lacking in my closet. Theresa

Ironically, I just put this color combination together in a 4×4 wardrobe for my upcoming trip to Spain. Was having doubts and second guessing whether the colors really went together, but now that is confirmed! Thanx, Janice for giving me confidence about my choices. Very timely.

I love multiple accent color posts since I find it difficult to have only 2 accent colors. Please can you write a starting from scratch post with multiple accents?
