Yes, I’m wearing a lot of the same clothes over and over – and part of the reason is the way our apartment is furnished!
In our main room, we have THREE dining tables! Our table is behind the sofa, with the leaves dropped, and with candles and a lamp on it – it serves well as a “sofa table.”
The second, which belonged to my mother-in-law, has the leaves dropped, it’s pushed up against a wall, and our (ridiculously huge) collection of alcohol is on it. The pandemic lead to a cocktail challenge with one of our friends…
The third table is my mother’s – it’s the one at which we eat our meals!
All of this is to indicate just how FULL our apartment is. Which, for me, translates into a closet that is only maybe 1/3 accessible without moving other things. I can easily access 15 – 20 garments without going through a massive shifting of stuff…
So yeah, I wear the same things all the time. Days upon days I don’t see anyone except my family, Mom’s caregiver, and a handful of building staff. They love me no matter what I’m wearing. Thank heavens, eh?
love,
Janice
p.s. Starting today, I’m going to wear the same charcoal v-neck yak wool sweater from Oliver Charles for seven days. There’s no incentive, commission nor gift involved – it’s a challenge that some of their customers try. I’m always fascinated to impose an external limit on my wardrobe. The sweater is wonderful, so we shall see…
Pearl earrings – Tiffany; black star earrings – Alinka; silver star earrings – Gorjana; grey pearl earrings – Majorica; gold & black cross earrings – Julie Vos; black & gold earrings – Julie Vos; star cardigan – Rika; white shirt – 4 Objects; black wool tee – Wool&; white turtleneck – Lands’ End; 3/4 sleeve jacket – 4 Objects; black cashmere turtleneck – Milan; blazer – 4 Objects; corduroy pants – Eddie Bauer; black cashmere sweatshirt – Quince; jeans – L.L.Bean; tweed pants – Alex Mill; purple tee shirt – L.L.Bean; sneakers – Converse; moccasins – Minnetonka
A few ways I wore things, this week:

Bought the Violet Chalk long sleeve tee and the matching short sleeve tee in Violet Chalk for Street, Berlin. Wish you would show Manual DC Shoes instead of Converse for high tops.
Thank you for the link and for posting colors that can be used for Street, Berlin.
That sweater looks amazing. Honestly, I quite like the simplicity of your wardrobe – something I have been striving for. Much closer than I used to be, that’s for sure! Thanks again for sharing with us. Have a good rest of the weekend.
I could wear everything shown from this WOW on repeat!
This is exactly my kind of WOW. I am going to do this throughout February using your template. A week is easy to plan in advance and easy to record. Next week I will choose a different colour capsule and by the end of the month I will be able to see the clothes I wear most and really need in my wardrobe. Thank you.
Janice,
As a long-distance daily commuter, I am very appreciative of the WOW series. It saves me precious wardrobe-planning and laundry time on busy weekends. I also love that it reinforces the idea of sustainable fashion. Thank you for your beautiful and inspiring “regular” posts, and also for this bite-sized way to dress well during a busy week.
Your devoted follower,
Erin
I always enjoy your posts and have learned a lot from you. Blessings for taking care of your mom.
Oh, and the sweater is “ideal for outfit repeaters”. Fancy, I didn’t know that there was actually a name for my tribe :) I could easily wear that sweater for a week, Janice, though I couldn’t have faced the 90 days in the one dress. I love the simplicity of the sweater, and I’m looking forward to a first-hand opinion of wearing yak wool.
Oh, and in hearty agreement with Carla, regarding your care for your mother. Bless you.
It would be interesting to do a WOW series. Reflecting on my outfits for the last week, I don’t wear many clothes. I probably have more variety in coats and shoes than I do my clothes.
I have a navy blue heavier weight v neck cashmere pullover I could easily wear for a week. I don’t like a collared shirt under sweaters for myself, but I wear heattech under it to keep it clean. 95% of the time I’m wearing it with straight leg jeans and ankle boots or loafers, depending on whether it’s raining, and a navy puffer vest. It’s a nice backdrop for jewelry, which is my main love.
Oh, and also, in the unsolicited advice category, next time you and your partner want to give yourselves a nice gift, give yourself the gift of allowing yourselves to give up one of the dining room tables! You can replace the one holding the alcohol with a beautiful bar cart on wheels so that you can get to your closet, and you can have lots of fun taking the time to find just the right one!
Actually that depends on the size of the bar! Sometimes a cart is too small. ( Is that when you know you have too much booze?)
A bar cart that would hold everything we have would have be more of a bar SUV!
hugs,
Janice
Beautiful cohesive mini capsule of clothing and accessories. Comfortable elegance.

I was intrigued by the items from 4 so I have been studying their website. Have you written about their clothing? They are quite expensive but seem like such nice quality clothes that I would love to hear your thoughts now that you have been wearing them for awhile. I am very drawn to the grey pants and the blazer. Did I miss a post or would you be willing to feature? Thank you. I have been loving your site for several years now and look forward to your posts.
I will try to be more complete in discussing my affection for them on Sundays, when I show my Wardrobe of the Week. But I STRONGLY recommend their things – the company is lovely to deal with, and the clothes are superb. It’s easy to imagine that I would wear these clothes for the next 20 years. Yes, they might need a patch on the elbow of the blazer, or a mend on the collar of a shirt, but these clothes would be worth that!
hugs,
Janice
