1 Dress, 100 Days: Day 3

September 3, 2022

My plan today is to work, and to hang out with my mom! We will probably walk out to the supermarket, but otherwise lie low…

So I’m going to wear one of my triple-wrap bracelets as a necklace, put on 4 of my favorite black earrings, and some sandals. I need a bag to go to the store, but otherwise I’m ready to roll!

Dress – Wool&; earrings – APC Monaco; bracelets (worn as a necklace) – Fierce Lynx Designs; crossbody bag – Honey & Toast; sandals – Munro

I thought I would share with you some of the things that I wear every day, too:

Hair styling stuff – Flora & Curl; watch – Timex; sleep-tracking ring – Oura; sunscreen – Paula’s Choice; Santal 33 Eau de Parfum – Le Labo

Enjoy your weekend!

love,
Janice

This is lovely! I like the simple look. I did get my July birthday bracelet from Fierce Lynx Designs from my husband. I love to wear it as a necklace! I get so many compliments on it too.

It looks like it’s a hot day in your region (no second layer). I hope you’ve been able to stay cool on your outing with your mom. 😊

I made a dress very similar to this 14 years ago when I got a divorce, was starting my business, and had nothing to wear but sweatshirts and freebie t-shirts. I still wear it perhaps once a week, year round. There are endless variations! And no one remembers the dress (it’s a cotton spandex knit).

I’ve spent the past two days cleaning out my closet, which has tons of stuff because I seldom wear anything out! I did have a surprising amount of shoes with actual holes, however. Also, I spent some serious time cleaning the white soles of Converse and a few other pairs—what a magic renewal!

Then, I put the sandals on a shoe rack in the back of the closet and moved stuff for the next three months into my “active” closet (I have another one for storage). I have a lot that is seasonless, but some things are definitely summer and I’m ready for a change in looks to celebrate each season. I left all the really heavy winter stuff in storage for now, although we’ll see by November in Chicago.

I hang everything by color, as well as jewelry on a hanging grid. My large brooch collection has been transferred to those plastic boxes designed for beads or embroidery floss. I can see all of them at a glance.

I never get rid of scarves! Sooner or later they turn out to be the perfect accessory and fit no matter what weight I’m at! It’s a long way from where I started with this dress! Way back then, I searched for a personal stylist (couldn’t find one interested), but I found your blog instead, and that has made all the difference.

I have a peculiar request. I can’t find one of the older posts. It was a travel wardrobe based on a scarf bought in a museum. It featured a red sweatwer and a coat, white button down, blue jeanas, camel trousers, camel shoes with a bow… I tried searching, but with no luck.

That’s fun to see your daily favourites. The Oura ring is very similar to what I just started to do with my new Apple Watch. I’m using it to track sleep cycles. I just finished posting about it on my Instagram. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and some other autoimmune disorders and they’re all affected by sleep. It’s great to see how small daily habits affect my sleep better or worse.

I was looking at the Le Labo site and wondering whether they use a mix of natural scents and synthetic scents vs. just natural scents. You don’t happen to know, do you?

    Thanks for your blog!

I think they’re all natural – their website surely suggests that, but I can’t swear to it. Call them after the holiday and ask! They’re wonderfully nice people…

Just lovely! Timeless and chic. I love that bracelet! I often wear head to toe black and this would add some nice color in my wardrobe. I had no idea these triple wrap bracelets could be used as necklaces–how fantastic! Thanks for sharing your hair product, too. As a curly girl myself, I’m always on the lookout for great products. Hope you have a wonderful day with your mom, and thank you for all you do!
