A Grey Capsule Wardrobe with Flower Accents

January 15, 2015

Yes, her accessories are pink. She’s the boss. She likes pink, and flowers.  If she can reconcile those facts, you can too. It’s 2015, and bosses wear pink…

gold stud earrings – Neha, grey and coral silk scarf – BCBGeneration, burgundy quartz earrings – Louise  et Cie, link and flower necklace – George J. Love, pink stone pendant – M by Miadora, black  background scarf – Lily and Lionel, link and flower bracelet – R.J.Graziano, blush floral scarf –  Ferragamo, rose circle brooch – 1928, opal and rhodochrosite drop earrings – Irene Neuwirth

One of the fun things about these accessories is that they combine very reasonably priced costume jewelry with absolutely ASTONISHINGLY expensive pieces. Everything doesn’t have to be in the same price range, so long as it shares a style theme that resonates with your deepest preferences and loves.

Shirt – Piazza Sempione, grey sweater – Uniqlo,  cardigan – Uniqlo, trousers – Uniqlo,  tweed dress – Dsquared2, pleated skirt – Uniqlo, pumps – Bella Vita, flats – Chloé

love,

Janice

I have never been any good at combining real jewelry with custome pieces, therefore all my custome pieces have been donated over the years. I do not own anything wildly expensive, more/less everyday type pieces, but they are worn. All the time. Wish I'd look better in florals. It is so feminine.

And of course, the ones I went all "oooooooohhh!!!! prettyyyy!!!!!" over were the silly expensive earrings. :-)

Those earrings–very, very easy to replicate in polymer clay (fimo or premo). Just sayin'

Dadgummit, those Chloe scalloped flats, $495, but I really like them!

re the jewelry, as women mature, they can really wear the hell out of real jewelry and if one possibly can, it's worth spending for. The burgundy quartz earrings look like a good buy to me; 14k gold plate on the setting really keeps the price down and wears well if you store them separately. The other colourway is beautiful too.

Why is it the items I like best on your photo collages are always the most expensive?! Lovely collection here; pink and grey is one of my favorite combinations.

I just found this blog and loved it so much I started reading from the very beginning! I just started Project 333 this January and was delighted when I got to you 333 posts.
I have kind of a weird, geeky question: how do you source your photos for the boards you do in ppt? I either grab the image from the retailers site where I have purchased an item or I take a photo of the item on the hanger and mask the background out. Your items don't look like either of those options.
Thanks again for all the inspiration!

I copy images from vendors and edit them in PowerPoint! That's one of the reasons that I'm always finding the most expensive items – the retailers that sell wonderful stuff ALSO take wonderful photographs…

I like this too… Though I'd choose the pink but less of the floral. I love your posts, thank you.

Love the BCBG scarf, and the Miadora rose goldtone pendant. They have quite a few more cute pendants at the link, and very reasonable price fashion jewelry. Now those rhodochrosite earrings are a different matter. Lovely, yes, but for that price I would expect the drops to be perfectly matched and to be of higher quality.
I've been on an absolute rose gold(vermeil) bender lately, and am loving the way it lights up against gray and black.

What you're saying is completely true. I know that everybody must say the same thing, but I just think that you put it in a way that everyone can understand. I'm sure you'll reach so many people with what you've got to say.
I really appreciate your professional approach. These are pieces of very useful information that will be of great use for me in future.
