Another Milestone – 10 million pageviews?!!!

August 23, 2014

I was born to entertain…

Unless absolutely everybody ignores the Internet today, The Vivienne Files will pass 10 million page views some time today.

Leaving me pretty much completely humbled, and a little bit dumbfounded.

I’ve already thanked you all about a hundred times, but I want to thank you, all, again.  For everything.

And I have one last dream that hasn’t come true, with which I need your help.

Do you need someone who’s cheerful, informative, somewhat funny, and full of love to speak to a group of people?  Might I humbly submit myself as a possible speaker?

You won’t be disappointed.  I’m willing to speak in exchange for travel expenses, and we will all have a lot of fun, I promise.

And thank you, once more, for your friendship and support; I couldn’t (and wouldn’t want to!) do it without you,

love,
Janice

Congrats!! I am new here, but feel like I have definitely contributed as I went back and read every single entry from the beginning. Once I was done, I missed it so much, I began all over again…from the beginning =)

Kind of like when I read Gone With the Wind. As soon as I finish, I start it again.

Thank you for all you do.

Just think about the influence you have had by showing women of certain age on how to dress more stylishly by ignoring silly trends and instead focusing on better quality and fit. My own wardrobe is much smaller but much more user-friendly because if it. Best of luck with your new venue.

Congratulations! I love reading this blog–it's taught me so much. I'm a minimalist with a small wardrobe, so the 4×4 series has been especially helpful, but I enjoy whatever you post. I'm a much better shopper (and dresser) since I found you. :)

Might think about teaching a workshop on wardrobe building for a university lifelong learning program. It won't pay much, but it's a great way to figure out your program, what questions people have, what collaterals you need. I could see you turning that into workshops for cruises, maybe with port shopping advice. They have knitter cruises (which would be another venue-building wardrobes around hand-knits is a workshop most avid hand knitters need) so I'm sure they have shopping cruises.

I never saw myself taking a cruise but if Janice is teaching on the cruise I am in. I love the idea of a course using the worksheets and everyone can discuss their progress. Maybe do by Skype for people who are out of town.

You have changed my wardrobe, shopping and closet size! I can't thank you enough. I was struggling to be come a minimalist but didn't see how to make my wardrobe work with fewer pieces. Since reading all of your posts I have a great wardrobe that is one tenth the size of the old! is functional, and beautiful. I get more compliments on how great I look than ever before. When I reach into my closet everything is in good repair, fits beautifully and is hardworking multitasking pieces. All thanks to you.
You will be a wonderful speaker, good luck in your new venture. Hope there is a book, dvd or podcast in our future. Can't wait to see what's next.

    Congratulations on the milestone Janice!
This is the only blog I follow and have read posts more than once. You do a great job at showing how to work through applying the capsule concept, especially puling together your core colors with each other and different ways to use and select accent colors. Love the posts that start with art or scarves. My accessories need the most editing. Most were gifted or inherited so they are a random bunch not chosen with my current core or lifestyle in mind. I really don't have the space for them and end up under accessorizing, even for a minimalist. Hopefully there will be someone excited for the big donation I am about to make.

    Hi Janice
Your blog is extremely useful with the wealth of information you provide where most blogs are pretty pointless so two thumbs up for that. Now, if you could just think about giving The Vivienne Files a makeover in the future to update the overall look it would be perfect.
    Thanks

Wow! That's amazing. I'll echo many of the others here by saying I've contributed to many of those views as I follow your posts faithfully. Last year you helped me plan my wardrobe for 12 days in Turkey with a wardrobe that fit in a small suitcase. I felt very comfortable wearing things more than once as I added a sweater or a scarf to change the look.
I think you would be great speaking to groups. I know I would love to attend!

I came across your blog while googling what to pack for a week away – and in my searches came across the term 'capsule' wardrobe =- anyway, when I found the blog, I read and read and back read entries – THANKYOU for what you write I love reading it. My core colours are Navy and Cream – but I also love red, orange, purple, coral, teal – how do i put all these together???? I have begun to collect a few basics in navy and cream, but I have heaps of stuff in the other accent colours, and I get lost in trying to put it all together – I did a colour course many years ago, and was given SPRING as my season, and have collected the lovely 'accents' ever since and think I have too many clothes in those 'other' colours help!
