It’s Like Our Own Private Art Gallery!

June 3, 2022

How many paintings do you suppose we’ve looked at here on The Vivienne Files?

I don’t have any idea!

But my lovely friends in Canada (yes, Alison the bracelet goddess!) have pulled together a page for us from which we can browse ALL of The Vivienne Files Start with Art posts…

Not by title, or artist. BY IMAGE!!! For me, it’s like wandering through a museum of all of my favorite paintings. (of course, I picked all of them!)

Edward Atkinson Hornel - Autumn

The timing couldn’t be better – I’m having a fibromyalgia flare, which makes me tired, sore, and dumb as a stump! So browse away, and I will be back on Monday…

love,

Janice

p.s. Seven years ago, a travel capsule wardrobe in black, white and yellow focused on some truly fabulous floral pants…

Sorry to hear that you are feeling rough. I hope that rest, sleep and TLC will restore you soon.

Thank you to Alison and her team for creating the gallery and thank you for your brilliance in creating the amazing wardrobes. It’s great to find my favourite paintings and discover new ones from before I found your blog. Its lovely to be reminded of some of the amazing heroines who have inspired your work and the lovely stories that you have woven. I’ve smiled with recollection of the fun we’ve had discussing the paintings and how we might adapt the wardrobes to suit our taste.

You are an inspiration and looking back at how your clothes choices stand the test of time. Thank you for all you do. Take care and hope you feel better soon.

It was my absolute pleasure pulling this together and so, so inspiring going through these gorgeous artworks and Janice’s brilliant wardrobes inspired by them. My social media diva, Yvonne, also deserves a huge thanks for going through all of these posts and categorising them so we can build out even more ways to explore The Vivienne Files. Stay tuned!

(Waving across Northumberland Strait to NB) Hello Alison love your jewels and that your team brought together these beautiful paintings in one place. My favourite is the Comtesse who looks so much like my aunt, that knowing expression!! So many other lovelies to contemplate…and a wave and gentle hug to Janice as well. I hope you are feeling better soon. Summer is arriving and you don’t want to miss a minute..but health first and foremost! Rest easy.

Waving back! We’re headed across the Straight in a couple of weeks to visit family in Pugwash and New Glasgow. I hope the fuel prices don’t get much higher!

Oh, I love this new addition and just looked through several! I am often going through old files gleaning and looking for inspiration in my colors and this helps tremendously! Thank you Allison and team. (I popped over to your blog just yesterday and saw that your “token American” is in Washington state… such a great place to be! :) Except maybe today as it rains.) Janice I hope you are feeling better soon. I have been struggling with flares lately too… too much stress and it’s not any fun. Praying for you!

Janice, my heart goes out to you! Flare-induced exhaustion and brain fog are both awful, especially when they’re piled on top of physical pain. Rest well and long, worrying about nothing❣️

Thank you for the tip re Allison’s VF SWA gallery! I only recently learned that we live under the same sky – just two hours apart!

Because of you, I fell in love with abstract art and even bought a print of the piece I fell in love with. The outfits you curate are beautiful. Thank you so much for finding the work that opened me to a whole new relationship with art. It makes me happy and challenges my mind every time I look at it.

So sorry you’re having a flare-up. I hope resting this weekend will help calm things down. What a brilliant idea of Alison and her team! I loved looking at the paintings and clicked on a few to see the wardrobes. This would be a great book concept, don’t you think?
