Snowy owl

Snowy owl – if you know the photographer, please let me know!

Well, it will be exciting when we get it all sorted out…

My brilliant consultants at RockFort Media are moving The Vivienne Files off of Google Blogger, and onto WordPress.

I know, that means virtually nothing to most of you – I’m not really quite sure what’s going to happen either. But I do know that The Vivienne Files will be prettier, and a little bit easier to search through, and that moving away from Google makes me look like a real grown-up blogger in the eyes of the big sponsors and advertisers.

So things will be nicer for you, and a better business for me. After I make it up the learning curve, it’s going to be wonderful. (I keep telling myself that…)

For the next few days, there won’t be any new blog posts, at all. Don’t worry, don’t freak out, don’t think that I’ve retired, or died, or been abducted by aliens – I just have to leave the consultants alone with a website that’s not constantly changing!

Cross your fingers, and send me lots of good vibes – I’m VERY nervous…

lots of love,
always,
Janice

p.s. What’s the owl got to do with anything? Just a pretty picture, although I could see a wardrobe in black, white and grey with lots of shades of purple accents, and some gold jewelry…

How exciting, Janice! Hope the transition goes smoothly and can't wait to see it in a few days. I for one would love to see a casual wardrobe based on this beautiful owl photo.

Wishing you well with the switch-over. And I'd love to see a fluffy, puffy, snowy owl winter wardrobe!

I thought the owl was your messenger, as in the Harry Potter books. For some reason I have a hard time getting comments to go through on WordPress blogs from my computer, but at least I can still read your posts. Good luck with the new format – I can't wait to see the changes!

I hope it goes smoothly. I love that you see a whole wardrobe plan in an owl … I was close up with a big bumble bee that I rescued yesterday, all I would have pictured would have been a yellow and black striped fluffy jumper ??

    Good luck with the move.
WordPress is usually very easy to work with. I've used it a bit and my husband uses it and writes blog posts about it for a variety of sites.
The owl is beautiful and I'd love to see a wardrobe based on that photo.

Owww, I LOVE that photo of the owl, I can see navy, grey and several beautiful shades of lighter blue and wine also! You must use this in a lovely wardrobe SOON! And what a great move to wordpress! I think you will find it very versatile and easy once you learn the process which is NOT difficult. I have been a freelance writer and editor for several large wordpress sites in the past years. WordPress is the standard in the corporate industry as you may know now. It really is user friendly. You seem to be a techie as I am not, and if I can do it you definitely will be a whiz! I am excited about what you will be able to do with your amazing creativity when you get your hands on wordpress!!! This is such a smart and expansive move on your part. Congratulations, Janice. You will love it! Janice Collins, Washington DC

Would LOVE to see a wardrobe based on this beautiful photo. And I love WordPress as long as I stay away from the fancy plug-in options.

It is a beautiful owl. I’m surprised no one has mentioned the eyes. They certainly pop against that black and white.

    Hi Janice

Your new look is very sophisticated and easy to navigate. I am not sure if the transfer process is finished yet. One aspect of your former site is missing right now and it is an important one for me ( may not be for anyone else). I always used your blog as my communications central. That means I used your links to other blogs. I will of course figure out another strategy but it did mean I always went back and forth from your blog.

I think that’s coming back… This is an early version; I just got plain sick of not having anything new on the internet for The Vivienne Files. Hang with me…
      hugs,
      Janice

I’m so happy to hear about your transition and growth. You and your beautiful, informative blog need to be compensated! I hope LLBean will be your first contact simply because you’re the reason I started buying basics from them again, I’m sure I’m not the only one!
