One of my favorite color combinations. I especially like how the electric blue in the Pierre-Louis Mascia scarf makes the sweater and skirt sing. I found your site last month and have read through all the past posts. Thank you so much for all the work you've done translating your thoughts into wardrobes. Just brilliant!

I spent a few hours yesterday using the pinterest and design-seeds.com (takes a photo and translate it into a palette of colors) sites to see if I could find a pattern to which colors I am naturally drawn to http://www.pinterest.com/cdjohnston/color/ since my hair is now more grey than dark brown; my brown eyes appear more golden than I remember and my skin has a yellow rather than pink cast. I have always liked deep jewel tones in the blue, turquoise and purple range on me with chocolate brown, black & dark denim as my neutrals. My grey hair is throwing me because I can't decide if charcoal rather than black is the way to go. Anyway -the photos/palettes I liked best, not surprisingly, were mostly blue, turquoises and purples, but what did surprise me was that I now like those colors greyed down somewhat. (I used to think teal was a 'sad' color and now I don't.) And I found I am drawn to textures and shadings of a single color like in Russian Blue cats and feathers. I've never worn much green, but many of the palettes I liked had a touch of green that made the other colors more interesting. The whole process was really educational.

This type of post that you do are my favorite. They are beautiful collections and have really change how I buy my clothes. I'm much more focused in my purchases.

For various reasons I'm on a shopping fast. But the recent posts have focused on colors that I already have in my closet, inspiring me to create new pairings of old favorites!

Hmm…I'm wearing a turquoise blouse today with my usual black skirt and shoes….I never thought to try brown. I can't wait to experiment!

Ooh, that's not just 'brown and blue' that's tobacco with turquoise (like a western theme with warm mid-brown leather and lumps of tuquoise made into jewellery). I can see some 'brown and blue' combos not working, but those outfits are just lovely. I wouldn't normally wear that warm tobacco brown but I certainly could with a nice turquoise top.

okay, you couldn't have come up with a more perfect wardrobe for me in this part of my life. I love the warm brown brings to my complexion and the prettiness of the blue. I have added pops off a rusty orange and a sort of dusty peridot green for my personal choices . thank you so much Janice I love when you find ways to show what's in our heads
