A Common Capsule Wardrobe: A variation of the standard, in navy and pink

Sometime back, someone asked me if it would be possible to put together a Common Capsule Wardrobe that would include neither black nor white.  Of course!  Pretty much anything is possible with clothing – my first idea was to work with simple navy and pink garments, while keeping a bit of grey and khaki.  While you couldn’t wear every last possible sort of accessory with these colors, you would still have a great many options…

Shall I build some variations with accessories?  Let me know; this could be a lot of fun!

Of course, you must! After all what makes a common wardrobe special? Have a wonderful weekend.

There's a pink for every woman; mine is deeper than this, a cyclamen with a dusty hint of coral. It makes the incipient masculinity of the simple clothes I like read as more feminine, and jeans sexy.

    Accessories would be brilliant, Janice!
These are great basic clothes, and I'd love to see how you jazz them up.
    Thank you so much. Elizabeth.

Yes, please! I'd love to see what you do with these!

Would you consider doing the same with orange/coral and navy?

Thank you!!! I look forward to my cup of coffee and your blog every morning!

I really like this example. I think leaving in the khaki and gray helps keep it from feeling too matchy, or like you are wearing the same thing over and over.

Yes please. I also like the gray and khaki in the mix. Navy plus gray and khaki are my basic wardrobe colors (plus white).

I have and use all of these combos and enjoy how easy it is, except wearing the gray with the kahaki. It just doesn't look right to my eye. I guess that's just me!

Yes! Please accessorize. I have almost every piece with the exception of the turtleneck. I would love to see what you do with them.

I'd love to see what you can do! I'm a little scared of navy skirts or pants. The catholic school vibe seems a little stodgy to me But I have faith that you can work non-dowdy magic. Plus, I'm super curious.

This is just perfect for what I am trying to do at the moment, i.e. build up a casual wardrobe which is more appropriate for my life now that I have retired. I am finding it quite difficult after a lifetime of wearing smart clothing for office life, and as I have always naturally been drawn to more tailored stuff. I also never wear black or white. Accessory ideas would be the icing on the cake! Please keep up the good work!

I love this! These are colours I actually can see myself wearing (and I already have some navy in my wardrobe).
