Accessories for a very simple summer wardrobe

Many people felt that my very simple summer wardrobes were just too plain, but the wardrobes as they were shown were never going to be the final  product.  With a few accent pieces of clothing (which count as accessories in my world), some shoes, scarves, and jewelry, the look of the clothes can change quite a bit…

Cardigan – Valentino,
sunglasses – Ray-Ban, earrings – Karen Millen, striped bracelet – Jean Lous Sherrer, spiked
necklace
– Kenneth Jay Lane, gold
earrings – Brooks Brothers, tee shirt – J. Crew, pearl bracelet – Stella
& Dot, navy & white bracelet – Wing Paris,
checked cotton scarf – Aquascutum, skirt –
Montaigne Market, black sandals – Manolo Blahnik, flats – Born, espadrilles – Michael Kors,
gold sandals – Taryn
Rose, scarf – Hermes

It IS all about the accessories isn't it?!?! They can elevate even the most basic to simply spectacular.

Very nicely done. I also think that a good haircut, subtle make-up, and good posture with a smile elevate the most basic outfit.

Oh and all one needs is a spritz of scent, some red lipstick and maybe some painted toes….bring on summer!

I totally agree minus the scent – why spray tolulene (drycleaner fluid which is the fixative for almost all perfumes) on your skin and affect your health and mine!

If you must use perfume, please do it at home – not in public places where it will soon be viewed like smoking.

I love this series because it matches my wardrobe (and wardrobe aspirations!) so well. Does anyone have ideas for how to dress from this collection for a summer wedding with an outdoor reception? The black lace skirt seems a little too sophisticated. Maybe add a full white skirt to the mix?

Dear Janice, I will be going to a job interview on Friday. What I know: fast-paced company, lots of young people, jeans and flip flops are welcome. What do I wear to this interview? I am a mom trying to get back out there, I am applying for a position of a translator. Thanks!

My husband and I are going to Hawaii next week. I've been trying to figure out what to wear – following the guidelines I have learned here, but working with the clothes I already own. Today's information will really help me fine tune my plans. Thanks for the ideas.
