A Black Dress: From Conference Room to Cocktails

I did a “conference to cocktails” post over at Tish’s last week, and quite a few people asked me to replicate the project with a neutral-colored dress.

A very near version of this LBD is in my closet already, so this was a lot of fun to put together!

Any other requests?  Pants?  A suit?  Let me know…

your posts have been great! somehow i have found that it's much harder than it might seem to find a great blazer to go with an lbd or lots of other things. in fact, i have not managed to find one. i still have some lovely blazers from the '90's but the shoulders are way too big! any recommendations re where to find a nice classic (black) blazer? not "shrunken", not peplum, not with really narrow sleeves, no giant gold buttons….do you see my dilemma??
    yours,

I especially like the way your wardrobe suggestion strategies always include at least a couple with what look like comfortable shoes. Coordinating outfits for dress occasions and for travel with shoes that I think I can actually stand for hours in or walk blocks in is always for me the hardest part. I thought the funky red Converse sneakers in your recent airport post were genuius.

…That's genius, or more properly, ingenious. :)
