Chic Sighting: at the corner of Clark and Diversey

November 10, 2011

For years, high-quality menswear has shown brown leather accessories with gray and navy clothing (check out Paul Stuart if you’re not familiar with the idea).  The woman I saw Saturday was working that look to perfection…

Pants – United Bamboo, turtleneck – Ralph Lauren, blazer – Helmut Lang, bag – Longchamps, belt – Miu Miu, loafers – Lanvin

love,

Janice

I've always worn brown shoes with gray and navy–is that considered "odd"?

    What an elegant outfit!

As I have just bought a brown bag and wear lots of grey I am glad to hear that they work together.

Thank you for this post, I needed confirmation (and affirmation) that brown is fabulous with grey and navy.

I posted a new purchase, a grey blazer, on my blog today – as you know because you commented (thank you for that, by the way). And it occurred to me that grey isn't that flattering for my skin tone. But brown is okay. I will have to try wearing brown with it and perhaps a touch of navy. Thanks for the idea!

I have to say, I love the menswear look like this, with the textures.

Gray and chocolate: my favorite combination, especially for Fall and Winter. Timelessly chic.
