I’ve got good news, and I’ve got bad news…

Good news:  I started a temp job.  It’s two weeks, with a distant possibility of turning into a permanent position.  I’m not yet convinced that I want it to be permanent, so I’m just doing my very best, being my normal charming and mellow self, and the chips (chimps?) will fall where they may.  If I do all I can, and it doesn’t work out, I have no regrets.

BUT…  I’m going to have to post a few of my “older” wardrobe schemes, as I’m not able to devote as much time to customizing things for you all.  I have a few custom wardrobes under my belt, as well as some of my earlier brainstorms, and of course a few of Vivienne’s rants.  Those of you who have so kindly asked for wardrobes – I beg your patience – I will NOT forget you, but it may take me a few weeks.
If it’s not one thing, it’s another!!
my thanks and affection to all,
The Vivienne Files

Congratulations on getting a temp job. I'm always a bit unsettled without a job, and a paycheck is always welcome. Thanks so much for all the wonderful wardrobes that you've done so far. They have helped me see my wardrobe in new ways.

It's perfectly understandable that you won't be able to post a new one every day as you have been. I look forward to future posts, but in the meantime will happily peruse (and adapt) all the wardrobes you've already done.

No pressure – but here is a gorgeous scarf in some lovely colors. I don't own this scarf, but will be thinking about how to do my own wardrobe capsule based on it. When you have more time later, it would be interesting to see what you would come up with.

Good luck with this the temp job and your continued job search. Do you mind me asking what kind of work you do? (p.s. I'm American and we generally don't consider that overly personal, but if you are British you might, so feel free to ignore the question if you like.)

Wishing you every happiness in your new job.

I enjoy reading your blog, and have come out of my comfort zone to make comments. You have inspired me to take stock of my clothes, and I've even bought new wooden coat/skirt hangers! You have taught me quality over quantity and "patience and focus" for future purchases.

Looking forward to future posts, as and when your time permits.

    Best Wishes, Mme UK

That is the beauty of a temp job – you can take it for a test drive first.

I hope all goes well – no matter what the outcome. Even if this particular position isn't "the one", you never know who you will meet while you're there. Someone you work with may have a friend who is looking for an employee just like you.

I love to see and read whatever you have to share.

Have a lovely weekend. xo, A

Best of luck with your new temp job! I hope it works as a permanent job, if you like it. Whenever you have time, I'd love if you'd post a small, capsule-sized wardrobe around two items that comprise my summer teaching (professor) wardrobe in a very hot, humid place: a good quality denim pencil skirt and good quality dark denim jeans. I find that these are perfect building blocks for summer teaching, but am never sure what to put with them. Your artistic touch would be so appreciated!
