Her inspiration painting is a winner - intriguing, and much more complex than one realizes at first glance. And what a range of colors!

Her next trip should be in weather that's a bit cooler than we're having right now! They want to go leaf peeping. Yes, it's kind of an irritating term, but it's a glorious and very rewarding way to spend a few days...

We first visited this painting, and this heroine, back in February. I think my plan is to look at this painting four times over a year, and see what happens...

If you used a painting like this for your wardrobe, there are at least eight colors here to inspire you. Enough to have abundant neutrals, and a couple of snappy accent colors too...

This is the current color wheel - I need to update it! There yellow to be included, and gold, and a true grey, and a great shade of putty taupe...

Start With Art – Wall of Light Orange Yellow by Sean Scully

True story from my trip to Paris in December: Belovedest and I were walking down a side street near our hotel, and saw art in the distance! The doorway of the gallery was glass, and the entire structure of the building was open so that we could see ALL THE WAY THROUGH to a large room in the back of the building. And facing us, we saw 3 Sean Scully paintings, in shades of blue. We would have had no idea that they were there, had we not been able to see them from the street. A delightful 10 minute detour!

I think my lesson is that looking in all of the doorways is a good idea!
