Signature: A Grey and Ruby Autumn Scarf

October 3, 2013

So, I decided against an eternity scarf, and decided to purchase this beauty instead.

scarf – Nordstrom

And as I admired how really pretty it is, and how nice the accents in ruby are, in the middle part of the scarf, I got to thinking about how this could be a really great focal point around which one could build their autumn wardrobe.  What a beautiful color scheme it suggests:

I already have my autumn wardrobe well and completely purchased, but if I were to go on a big shopping spree, this might be a fun splurge.

Wool coat- Vanessa Bruno, earrings – Novica, sweater- Cuple, flannel trousers – Carven,  silk blouse – Emporio Armani, bracelet – CoriNa Mardari, tee  shirt – Guess,  paisley blouse – Etro, grey cardigan – Moschino, pleated skirt – Spijkers en Spijkers, necklace – Boticca,
pumps – Aquatalia by Marvin K. , boots – KG Kurt Geiger

It’s a very good thing that I’m NOT shopping right now…

love,
Janice

I splurged on EF's 'dark tulip' sweater and silk top this fall. This scarf may just be the one fun purchase to tie this all together with my black and grey. Lovely outfits all around.

Love this color combination. I already have a charcoal gray coat, gray wool pants, gray cardigan, gray silk blouse, red silk blouse, and a red l/s tee. All I need are the paisley blouse (wow!) and gray skirt, the shoes, and the accessories. Thanks for posting this

I find infinity scarves pretty but limiting, prefer the versatility of a rectangle or square. Admire your choice, too.

This I can do … just a long-sleeved sweater or tee in burgundy and THE scarf, and i am there! think it's a plan that would be satisfying to lots of people. Thanks!

I'd love to see your new Fall wardrobe, with the gray added in with your already owned favorites. ?

Any tips for removing the labels from this scarf? I started off with a seam ripper but that didn't work well, so I've been picking away at the teeny tiny stitches for half an hour now with only slightly better results. This is my first expensive scarf and I'm afraid of ruining it through ignorance or clumsiness!

Ooh, this is tough. For some scarves, I just cut off as much of the tag as possible with manicure scissors, and then let the rest of the tag wear off. I got my tags off of this scarf, but it took most of a soccer match streaming on my computer to get it done! Tedious work…

Thanks! I gave up and asked my daughter to do it for me. With her superior eyesight and patience she managed it in about half an hour of picking with a needle.

      Happy Thanksgiving. :-)

Ooh, nice colours! I do love that dark red. I've been very much in blue and green over the past few years, but I'm building up my red and plummy colours again now. I have a wool A line just above-the-knee-length skirt which needs nice matchy things to go with it.
