Happy 4th of July to everyone! (even if you’re not celebrating a holiday, you can still be happy, right?)
As with everything on The Vivienne Files, if these garments don’t work for you, substitute things that will! If you’re not a “shorts and sleeveless top” person, maybe you’re a “cropped pants and tee shirt” woman…
First up – last week’s pink tank top gets casual!

For those of you keeping each of these “individual garment” pages, I offer up some lovely brown…
Bright blue with navy shorts is a natural!

Olive accessories that didn’t look terribly overly green were hard to find, so I chose brown instead; I think it works well!

For those among you who spend a lot of time near a beach, lake or river, water shoes or sandals might be a smart idea…

Summer clothes don’t have to be bright – subtle works well here!

But then again, baseball season is halfway over, so this kind of makes sense!

These are great outfits for where I live. And it is a good thing we are getting through summer, as Lands End is now showing some fall colors, with a sale, on the website. Rust red, coffee, and some sort of teal. T shirts, shorts and 3/4 sleeve polos. Just saying… The look back post was interesting. I always look at the posts before or after, if they sound interesting. The post of the four season, whatever is clean 13 was Very interesting.

Sandy, thanks for pointing out the four season post. I need to go back and reread that series – I think that may be the next step in my project to organize my wardrobe,
I had to double check my day! They are starting to merge just a bit. I’m still wearing “culottes” or at least that’s what we used to call them. Shorts that look like a skirt. Eileen Fisher via ebay. And summer dresses. I no longer like the way my legs look in shorts! :) Happy 4th to everyone celebrating today.
I’m not a shorts person either, they make me look even shorter. Love the colours in the purple and blue selections. Harking back to last week’s post about linen, I bought a lilac linen skirt in a charity shop for £5. This is now added to my purple and grey summer wardrobe.
A Lands End sale leaflet came through my door offering another 20% off with a code thus making possible savings up to 82%. Go on the website and they have an additional 25% off sale prices. What shall I do?

Totally agree! I am pinning my favorite set from each WTW on Pinterest. The set with the lilac Free People hat had me…until I read down to the last denim short set.

Teri, you can also go to articles then to by date. And to the right of contact in the header there is a very small magnifying glass for a search. I have searched by color and it has worked fine. Of course, I am on an iPad…

Is it possible to pull up all the wardrobes that have had a particular color in them ( sage green) for example?
Or, is it possible search for a keyword Ike “Paris” or ” coat” or something?

If you go to “home” and then to “articles” you’ll find them both by tags (like coral, travel or scarves) and by date.
Its funny how I used to hate shorts but now I wouldn’t be able to survive the summer without them! Especially the Spanish kind of summer, like someone from Florida said, no second layers here either!
BTW, today I’ll be pairing denim shorts with a coral sleeves shirt :)

Thank you for that search tip ! I had to turn my iPad sideways so that the greatest dimension was horizontal, in order for me to see the search magnifying glass .
The colorful set with denim is so cheerful, but the blue and navy set is my favorite. I’d switch to just-below-the-knee skimmer shorts and throw a lightweight cotton navy-and-white check long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up over it.
