Capsule Wardrobe Fall Accent 2013: Carafe

September 10, 2013

I would have called this Coffee, rather than Carafe, which is why I’m a blogger and NOT working for Pantone, I guess!

Earrings- Toosis, Blouse – Emporio Armani, hat – Lisa Battaglia, print infinity scarf – Nordstrom, shoes – Geox

black tee shirt – Uniqlo, beige silk blouse – Uniqlo, white tee shirt – Uniqlo, black cashmere cardigan – Uniqlo, beige cashmere sweater – Uniqlo, black sweater – Uniqlo, jeans – Uniqlo, black skirt – Uniqlo, beige pants – Uniqlo, black pants – Uniqlo

There are at least a dozen MORE outfits that I haven’t shown here…

love,

Janice

Yep – another set of workable outfits – literally, WORKABLE ! Thanks again for inspiration as we here in E.TX wish for cooler weather so we can feel like it's Fall.

I'm in the East Texas area too and yes, our weather is hotter than it was through part of the summer!

I know – this year's temps have really been weird ! Typically next week SHOULD bring the first serious cool-down for the year, just in time for the E.TX Fair, but it's looking doubtful right now.

Strange name – I agree, coffee would be more appropriate, since carafes are usually made of glass… ;o

Love the way your choice of suede shoes, felt hat, and wool scarf bring texture to this dark shade.

So many great ideas with items from the closet. And it's really hot here in North Central AR also. Things will cool off Thursday, though, and I am ready.

I don't know why, but I never think of pairing dark brown with black – tan, yes; pale milky coffee colour, yes…….. but this post has made me think again!

I just bought that beige silk shirt today and it is lovely. Converts to cross-over too for extra versatility.

How does Pantone know what we will want?? My daughter and i spent the summer collecting dark brown pieces on our thrifting jaunts and we are both wearing a lot of black with brown.

    Love what you've done here.

Thank you for this post. A carafe of coffee! Brown is my neutral. I love it paired with black, blue, grey, pink…on and on.

I need to get familiar with the infinity scarf concept and work one into my wardrobe.

My new purchase for the fall was a beautiful latte brown burberry coat. Now if the North Florida weather would realize it's fall and not the middle of summer, I could wear a few of these things. Even a pair of jeans would be nice.

Brown is my neutral as well. I'm travelling this autumn and hope to use brown, creme and rust/orange as my wardrobe colours.
There are many workable options in your post.

This post is great, thank you! I love black and brown, and combined them all this year. Now I want to add an accent color like turquoise or some blue-green (works with my eyes :-)
SO…I am finally going to lay everything out a la Janice, and take phone photos. Thank you for your constant inspiration!

Ooh yes – a burnished bronze. A more dressy version of everyday dark brown.
