Navy and Hot Pink: A Capsule travel wardrobe based on 2 scarves

I received a very specific request for a travel plan that was mostly navy, but accented with hot pink, and which wasn’t “stodgy”.  This plan built on a “core of four” in navy: pants, skirt, cardigan and tee, and tossed in a navy dress too.  A white tee shirt, a bright cardigan, and a couple of whimsical tops negate any possible worries about being too mumsy…  Some fun jewelry, and you’re away!

Promenade au Faubourg silk scarf – Hermes, silk wrap – Stella McCartney

Tee shirt – Hugo, cardigan – Vanessa Bruno, earrings- Michael Kors, watch – Mougin & Piquard,
pants – Lucza London, loafers – Brooks Brothers, bag – Solomon Appollo,  suitcase – Rimowa

Necklace – J. Crew, dress – Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti, earrings – Rebecca Minkoff, bracelet – J. Crew, pumps – Jimmy Choo, sweater – Banjo & Matilda, skirt – Toast, cardigan – DKNY,  navy blouse
Mango,  sleeveless top – Haute Hippie, ballet flats – Bloch

love,

Janice

Prrettay. Luv this combination. Don't know if I would want to wear a top with a big heart on it..although you say it is for whimsy. Have to have some fun sometimes I guess.

I might be more comfortable with a Pink/Navy striped T. Wouldn't that work?

I am planning my Chicago travel wardrobe now…as I get closer to the end of May, I might need your advice about the weather!!! I know it has been cold! But, I want to wait closer until I leave! Thanks!

I think this is a wonderful capsule. I would substitute another navy and hot pink sweater for the sweater with the big heart, but the rest of your picks I love. I plan to send you information about several of my scarves and ask for capsules. You are a wonderful resource and a treasure on the internet. Thank you for ALL of your posts.

I love your blog! It has helped me put together things in my closet in ways I NEVER would have thought of. Even though the outfits are simple and classic, some of the colors and accesories are just amazing!! Thank you!

Thanks so much for your wonderful website. I have been visiting it for months and I finally got to put into practice the capsule wardrobe plan. You have made it much easier for me to look put together when I run out the door each day. I appreciate you :)

I’m doing this color scheme in Hot Pink, Navy and white- mostly from JCrew Factory from this season (summer 2022). I’m in Texas and we travel every other month or more so I built the capsule wardrobe for that. 3 prs of linen cotton ankle (on me 5’2) crops w drawstring waists. They don’t need ironing! 2 white T’s, pink & white striped T, Navy & white striped T dress, 1 pink white & Navy print pop over blouse, 2 prs shorts-Navy & white stripe, white w pink scallop embroidered trim, several prs of flip flops, 1 pr of minimalist white court shoes, 2 mix and match swimsuits. I can take most of this into Fall here.
