Fabulous! I LOVE red pants and red jeans especially.

I love your red jeans. I received a dark coral pair for my birthday and have worn them all summer. Wednesday, with a black long sleeve tee, often with a crisp white blouse. I feel fabulous every time I put them on.

I bought some red jeans this summer and absolutely adore them. More possibilities than I would have thought. My favorite, as mentioned in the previous comment, is a crisp white blouse!

Fabulous looks. I would feel self-conscious in red jeans, though I wear red on other parts of my body–why is that, I wonder.

I looked at red jeans last month, chickened out, and chose exciting blue instead. Now I wish I hadn't. That 'age thing' got the better of me.

Never let the "age thing" get to you. If you feel great in them, you will love them. I am 63 and that is what I live by. I haven't embarrassed myself (or my children) yet.

I've been surprised to find how much I wear my red jeans — you'll have such fun in yours — as your various combos above show. You must be so ready for your shopping fast to end!

How wonderful! I have to say how much I admire both your creativity and your restraint! Such a role model. And, I struggle with the restraint part. Perhaps a shopping fast is the best way to go. Oh — I wanted to let you know I got another colleague hooked on your blog. She is heading off to Japan (from January through July) and needs to pack lightly for teaching, casual, and sports for that six month period. She is delighted! Susan (Minneapolis)

Love the red jeans, not sure I could pull them off…but I'd love to see yours' with something other than black…another neutral, or even another bright colour. Red is so vibrant so why not go all the way? A red sweater (the right red sweater) with neutral shoes would look great, I think.

Ahh red jeans!! Terrific. Not a great color next to my face, but would be great mixed with all my black! Tres chic!

I recently purchased a pair of green jeans and adore them. They really freshen up my neutrals. Enjoy your red one's!

I passed over a pair of slim red pants at the Gap earlier this month. They fit beautifully and were marked down to $25. I went back a few day later and they were out of stock in my size. I've been kicking myself ever since, and especially today!

I love you red jeans, too. Saw lots in Italy and France in June.
I wanted some, but found them a bit bright in my size.
So I recently bought a pair of burgundy cords at Long Tall Sally.
I am looking forward to wearing them.

I wish I was as brave as you! I have longed for a pair of red jeans all summer and just can't quite believe they will look appropriate on a 39 year old size 10 posterior. I hope they are as fun as they look!

I have red jeans and I love them. Mine are flared not straight leg but so versatile anyway. Kelly, don't let your age and size 10 stop you, I am 46 and wear a size 16 and I love mine and get compliments on them.

Really a terrific end to the week! Nice punch. I'm in awe that your year is done and I like this choice better than the cobalt sweater from a few blogs ago.

I love bright colors and I bought pink instead of red, but I agree with your post – they go a long way! Have a HAPPY weekend! :-)

I would like to attempt a 1 year shopping fast. Would you address how you accomplished your year. We're you ever tempted to break it? Also, I am too short to wear horizontal stripes, what do you suggest as an alternative for tops? Thank you for answering these questions.

Janice, I've been thinking all day about the glee you must feel today celebrating the end of your shopping fast. I'm so grateful that you did all this imaginary shopping instead this year on your blog! (I had to smile about red jeans being your first purchase since, inspired by your blog, I created a basic capsule spring wardrobe for my daughter's 30th birthday last February–with a pair of tomato-red skinny jeans as the centerpiece. She and her long legs [she must be a genetic mutation] get compliments everytime she wears them.)

I am almost 65 and proudly wear my almost red/dark pink jeans with glee.
