A Travel Capsule Wardrobe – Packing for summer on the coast of Maine

A dear reader asked me for some suggestions about what to take for a summer on the coast of Maine.   She has these garments (well, garments very similar to this) that she currently really likes:

white
linen shirt – Ralph Lauren, orange striped tee – Debenhams, navy striped tee – Sandro,
purple striped tee – Splendid, white shirt – Marc Jacobs, white
& dark wash jeans, denim
jacket –
Adriano Goldschmeid, black shirt – La Garconne

And she told me that she really likes blue, so I suggested the following additions (some of which she may already have), as well as some essential accessories.   A few possible combinations follow.  Enjoy! and dream of the beach…

Blue cardigan – Paul Smith, white tee – La Garconne,
pale grey tee – A.P.C., navy henley – J. Crew, Khaki
capris – Levi’s, black capris – Dorothy Perkins

Sleeveless washed denim top – H&M, hooded sweatshirt – L.L.Bean,
seersucker blouse – L.L.Bean, striped tee – L.L.Bean,
flowered tee – Old Navy, chambray
skirt – Phase Eight, flowered skirt – L.L.Bean

Scarves, hats, sandals – L.L.Bean,
waterproof watch – Armitron, starfish earrings – J. Crew, scallop
earrings – Coach, canvas shoes – Keds

Oh, I want to go on vacation! Love the blues, love the LLBean skirt. I may pick that up. :)

Wow! How brilliantly useful. I will study this, especially the way the accessories bring it all together.

Just came across a really interesting article about how Pantone chooses the season's colors. Maybe read it while on the porch in Maine :)

Like you showed us what you would pack for yourself for a trip to Paris, would you show us what you would take if you were summering on the Maine coast? It would be so nice to see how you would use your own wardrobe plus any "shopping" for whatever you need to make it work for Maine. Would you stick with black? What would your cosmopolitan classic chic style look like for a Maine summer? I hope you'll think about doing this.

Can you do the same, but for a trip to Nice for Sporty Gal? I guess I could look in the French Elle or similar, but that would only show the trends.

Hello would you consider doing a plan for a summer/fall in central Europe?
    Thank you
