Wardrobe of the Week: April 16 – 22, 2023

April 23, 2023

A week that started out warm, and then veered right back into the “it might snow” temperatures overnight. So right now, I’m living with a wardrobe full of “man I need to iron!” summer clothes, and all of my favorite winter clothes too!

I’m discovering more and more that, since I wore the Wool& dress for 100 days, my need to constantly change outfits from day to day has diminished substantially. My social life is mostly limited to everybody here in my building (that’s a LOT of people…), and they don’t seem to care what I’m wearing.

As it should be!

love

Janice

p.s. I think I’m going to try to aggregate all of the cold-weather clothes that I’ve worn since I started the Wardrobe of the Week – I’m curious to see just how many garments it is!

black earrings – APM Monaco; pearl earrings – Tiffany; x earrings – Julie Vos; black sweater vest – Gentle Herd; white shirt – 4; black cotton sweater – L.L.Bean; grey yak sweater – Oliver Charles; pearl necklaces – Freshwater Pearls; blazer – 4; thermal tee – Everlane; dotted dress – Uniqlo; black wool tee – Wool&; black cropped pants – Wool&; jeans – L.L.Bean; tweed pants – Alex Mill; wool leggings – Wool&; sweatshirt – 4; patent loafers – Thierry Rabotin; ballet flats – Thierry Rabotin; moccasins – Minnetonka; sandals – Abeo

Same here! Maybe this is a long-term result of the pandemic? Or we become more practical as we get older?

Here in the PNW Seattle has had coldest spring since 2011, and Olympia had to go back 80 years to see one as cold…End of this week we are supposed to touch the 70’s. And yes, I agree we become more practical as we get older. I’ve been going back in my Style App and purposely wearing the things I haven’t worn a lot but want to keep – these would still be winter things because of the weather. My spring/summer wardrobe is small to begin with so there’s not much a rotation there. Ready to get into brighter clothing.

I wear fewer clothes when it’s cold. I have favourites which are worn regularly. When it’s hot I can change at least twice a day.

Enjoyed seeing your actual wardrobe selections Janice. I’m looking for inspiration for what to wear during the daily grind, not really special occasions. How to look good while doing chores and running errands – not very exciting but I find looking chic day-to-day harder than when I need to dress for an occasion.
