1 Dress, 100 Days: Days 72, 73, 74, 75 and 76

November 15, 2022

I’m now beginning to feel like this is my permanent uniform! It’s colder at the International Headquarters of The Vivienne Files than it is in the rest of the apartment, so I bundle a bit…

Note that all of the tops except the last are worn OVER my dress – the last top is a long-underwear-ish piece that’s under my dress!

love,

Janice

I honestly (still) can’t decide if I would be hitting the boredom wall right now or experiencing a new-found freedom. With the number of accessories and different tops I have it wouldn’t be hard for me to do this, I’m just not sure I would want to……. this coming from a person who has three pair of the same pants, because that’s how often I wear them!

It’s both. And then I realize that if I’m bored, maybe there’s something OTHER THAN CLOTHING that will amuse me. Between falling a few days ago and being busy at home, it’s kind of freeing to just get in the morning, grab a tee shirt or turtleneck, my dress, and a scarf and be finished…
      love,
      Janice

I hope you’re o.k. after the fall, Janice.

        I’ve found this fascinating.

I LOVE the idea of wearing THE dress everyday, how freeing! I do have some practical questions though. Being 75% wool, is it scratchy? Do you wear a t-shirt layer under the dress everyday before adding an outer top. Also how does it wash? Many thanks!

Hi Geri, I thought I would respond to your questions because i have 2 Wool& dresses one with 3/4 sleeves and one with long sleeves that I bought when Janice started her challenge. I wear a black full length slip because of static cling and also they are thin and I prefer the modesty. If it’s cold I will wear a cotton camisole or a 32 degree long underwear tshirt I purchased from Costco. I have rotated them into my wardrobe and I wear them both each week. I went on a 10 day trip and wore the grey dress every day and I really enjoyed it. I have found that i needed to hand wash it about every 10 days, hang it to dry overnight and it is good to go. I hope this info helps.

24 more days to go – what will you wear then? I think that I would be counting down the days now until I could wear something else. I need colour and variety in my life. Hope you’ve recovered from your fall.

Janice, I hope you are ok, too.

How is the static/cling of the dress on leggings? Do you wear a slip?

A beige/goldish sweater? Wow. There are strange goings on at the International Headquarters of the Vivienne Files.

I am still loving all your looks. I have put in my request for a dress or gift card for Christmas. So we shall see!
