Ink blue, same as European navy? Love it.

Fascinating! Do you know what kind of fabric is used in the dress to make it work year round? Thanks. LeNora

Rayon/nylon knit. Should be good for all but the hottest days of summer!

Janice, this 12-month dress scheme is beyond brilliant. Are you a whole multi-story office building of creative clothing stylists? Is there really just one of you????

Thank you, Janice! Another brilliant post. I have a navy sheath in tropical wool (6 years old and still going) that works really well year round. Love your October styling! Thank you! Cannot wait to see your new scarf from Paris. Oh — and, the months of reading your blog have really changed the way I approach my wardrobe…I am considering the 333 project. Susan

P.S. The lovely dress with a cute little denim jacket is so European and I absolutely love it. My dear chic German friend Waltraud introduced me to that look and I adore it!

Never mind the clothes (just kidding!) I LOVE the picture of Paris in your header. Understandably, one does not often see the "new city" in publicity shoots, and that picture is so refreshing. Have to do my next trip sooner rather than later!

I would love to know how you plan your purchases. You talked about having a plan recently you're selections from Paris and the red jeans are all
wonderful picks so I'm wondering how you ID your wants/needs.
    Thanks for all your help.
The year of dress looks is inspiring!

Yes, this! How does one even know what they need in the face of so many choices?

Look to yourself, your own life, your own activities, your body, and your personal style. I regularly have a list, at least in my mind, of what I need next. After the denim shirt and the black vest are found, I won't have ANY needs at all for a long time.

Shopping has to be internally drive, NOT externally. Look for what you need and want, NOT what they want to sell to you. It's about you, not them.

Brilliant, as usual! Can you do the same with a grey or a red dress?
    You are fantastic! Thanks.

Very timely! I have been looking for a versatile dress that could be appropriate at a funeral but also a nice evening out. My life is 95% casual and my few dresses are more "cocktail". I sadly have had a few funerals in the past year and nothing that I felt good about wearing.

But…I've been looking and so far haven't found what I need. Hopefully one of your dresses on this topic will work for me.

I should add that hopefully one of your dresses will be of the under $200 and easily available type! And look good on me, now that would be amazing!
