I love this painting – it’s not unlike the view from my window…
Our heroine’s preparation for the holiday season is pretty simple – she buys a simple sweater that has sequins knitted into it! (I confess, I have a black cabled cashmere sweater with sequins, and I wear it a LOT more than I ever imagined…)
She adds in a pair of winter white wool pants, a classic Aran-style crewneck, and a navy turtleneck. Some gold accessories, and she’s ready for anything her schedule might thrown at her!

Earrings – Rare Matters Jewelry; navy cotton/cashmere turtleneck – L.L.Bean; sequined v-neck sweater – Caslon; cabled sweater – Everlane; pants – J.Crew; gold wristlet – Talbots; gold flats – Talbots
She has fewer beige/ivory clothes than she has navy and green. This makes sense to me; the lighter colors aren’t as versatile for many of us.
The time that I’m always tempted by a wardrobe is when I look at their scarves and jewelry!
I seriously considered ivory shoes for this heroine, but chose gold instead. Gold goes with so many things (as does silver!), and you don’t have to be thinking about how well things match.
This wardrobe has the charm of being really difficult to wear badly; you could mix some of the shades of blue and green to clash, but you’d have to deliberately try!
I love the classic feeling of this wardrobe…
love,
Janice

I like this one the most 💖💖 and it is the one I can most easily imagine living in. Also, I’m pretty sure I could mix any of the blues and greens together! As long as the colour intensity fits, I don’t feel there’s a clash. Still, sometimes it’s different IRL 😃
I love the blue and green elements of this wardrobe. I would have even less lighter pants. One would do it for me and maybe one light skirt.
I really like this wardrobe. 🤩
The accessories are fantastically chosen.
If I add a medium gray-brown and a dark brown, I’d be perfectly outfitted all year round.
I have no problem mixing all shades of green and blue. Perhaps because nature is my inspiration.
This particular capsule always strikes me as “Nancy Meyers/Coastal Grandmother” aesthetic, which I am deeply attracted to. While I could never wear ivory/white all year round (can you say German Shepherds, anyone?), I think the crisp, coastal look is superb for the right heroine.
I love this capsule too. The earrings this month are seriously tempting me, even if they are larger than I normally wear. I recently gave away my cream slacks because I never wore them in the year I had them. I should have bought a skirt instead.
I also like this very classic looking wardrobe and could happily wear this, hands down.
The scarves and jewelry would also work with the Eiffel Tower colours.
I would happily take this wardrobe
And mix it with the Eiffel Tower one for a complete look!
Me too!
This is, by far, my favorite. Partly because it’s based on O’Keefe, but because of the style and colors, and the oh-so-wearable accessories.
All it takes to look “elevated” for the holidays is the smallest amount of sequins, jewelry a bit more sparkly and the metallic shoes. Just perfect!
If I lived in the cold frozen north, this would be just perfect. I agree about metallic shoes.
I saw an Aran sweater in a shop in Mystic, CT last week. It looked like the one Janice told us she had on order a couple weeks ago. So much more beautiful in person than on the flat page. Maybe some day……
This is very serene. I have a sparkly lilac jumper which I wear with a slightly darker lilac satin shirt. I love the grey and pink look-back too.
