This painting makes me want to visit the Klaralven River… maybe go canoeing…
WHO AM I KIDDING? Maybe sitting on the deck with a cool drink!
The right paintings can make almost any place look beautiful, right?
Our heroine is committed to getting some warm weather clothes, including some accessories for dressing up. Just a tiny bit dressy…
Cream sleeveless top – L.L.Bean; earrings – Emma Holland Jewellery; yellow linen shirt – Alex Mill; crocheted cardigan – Mango; bag – INC International Concepts; sandals – Calvin Klein; dress – Uniqlo
A heroine who managed to find new things from the summer 13! There’s no requirement to do this, and given the current state of retail, it’s not easy…
I’m pretty sure that next month, I’m going to show our heroines’ wardrobes on two separate pages. Should I separate things by tops/bottoms, or two colors on each page? I’m tempted by the idea of colors, but I wonder which approach would be more useful.
I know that I’ll split the accessories into two pages – one for jewelry and scarves, one for bags and shoes…
Let’s see what our heroine is going to do with her new clothes:
I love these colors; in a different life, I’d wallow in warm colors!
love,
Janice

p.s. Ten years ago, our heroine was “business traveling” as far as her office, as they all hunkered down in a blizzard to get “urgent” work finished…

Oh Janice, I like this wardrobe more every month.
Beautiful
Dear Janice, how lovely to be treated with a daily dose of TVFs! I feel more stylish just by reading you.
My favorite being the first O’Keefe – specially after adding more stripes -, this is one of those I would say no at first, but end up learning a lot from. In this case, ivory and olive green are a great combo and I do wear it with ease. Mustard appealed at first, but compared to how the orange lifts the outfits – with your carefully picked items, off course -, it’s no where near.
I’d like to revisit yesterday’s conversation on shades, as olive green is also tricky. I just stay out of wanting things to match in a perfect way and if it’s an item that I know will be worn a lot in a color I love, I go with it. I have a pair of linen pants in a cool undertone olive green. I have no other item in that shade, but I’ve worn them with navy, cream, white, prints. It became a workhorse!
Cheers and blessings 🌻 everyone.
Forgot to mention the look back stories from yesterday and today are such fun! Thanks for all you do Janice!
Every time you post this beautiful painting, I wish that I looked good in olive. You make it so appealing and delightful! Unfortunately, when I wear it, I just look blah if it’s near my face. That being said, I love the warm mustard and bright coral. I wish that this shade of mustard was easier to find, as I have lots of coral in my wardrobe already! The mustard is the real stand out for me in this cycle.
In terms of separating the wardrobe, I love the color idea. I actually my clothing in my closet by color. I do subcategories of grouping subcategories (shirts, dresses, etc.) within each color. I think it is easier to see the color groups and make plans from there, but I know that I might be in the minority.
I also want to echo loving the looks back…especially because I have been a follower for clearly more than a decade. It’s fun when I remember the posts so clearly, as I do the one you’ve posted today.
I find this wardrobe incredibly cheerful and reminds me of what I had maybe 10 years ago? When I was much more auburn than gray! Of course gray with purple highlights totally works for me now. I do still wear a fair amount of orange/coral. Not so much the olive or mustard. I also like the color idea. And the way you are thinking of dividing the accessories. Thank you Janice.
This wardrobe is beautiful! Not my colours at all, but I do love how it is coming together.
I think dividing it by tops/bottoms would be good.
This is the only wardrobe I’m not even attempting to replicate. Absolutely gorgeous on some people I know and love but not me. Great accessories! I mentally and in my closet divide by color but I also sort by item. Since you have neutrals and accents (sometimes more than two) not sure how you would divide. Good Luck you! We will enjoy it no matter what you decide.
I sort by item, then by colour within the item. It makes more sense to me, since I am starting by looking for a top(s) and a bottom.
I really enjoy the look-backs. Thank you Janice.
Such a sunny, happy wardrobe, it always makes me smile. Love the look backs as well, all are beautiful.
Hi Janice,
All tops and all bottoms may sound like a good idea, but if the wardrobes are separated by color(s), we could more easily envision outfits in those colors.
I sort my clothes by color, too, at least, tops, easier to see what I need, or need to get rid of. And they look so nice, all hanging together! Sometime I just want to buy something new just to make my closet look better :)
I like today’s collection very much, but look nasty in the green; am mentally substituting blues. Now it looks like what’s in my closet! Need more yellow/mustard!
Have to weigh in on the split – tops/bottoms, please. it allows a functional focus – what am i dressing for? my closet is sorted into casual dresses, skirts, formal dresses, dressy 2d layers, suit jackets, dressy first layers. any of my colors can be in any category.
