Just Some Art, Today…

April 16, 2025

I’ve got flu. No kidding. I thought it was just a cold, but HECK NO…

So I’m sharing some paintings – I have hundreds of works of art saved on my computer and on my phone. I may as well share them with you, right?

Matisse – Safrano Roses at the Window

Gustave de Smet – Nature Morte aux Anemones

Mabel Royds – Honeysuckle

Kees Van Dongen – Bouquet de Fleurs

Bruno Liljefors – Winter Landscape with Bullfinches

George Randolph Barse – Trees on Capri

Cedric Morris – Iris Seedlings

Arthur Streeton – Liles and Bells

Luigi Russolu – Landscape at the First Rays of Sun

Shiro Kasamatsu – Rainy Evening at Shinobazu Pond

I have a favorite; it changes every ten minutes…

love,

Janice

So sorry to learn that you have flu. Rest up, drink plenty and hope you feel better soon. Last time, I had flu, I was in bed for a week. In the meantime, we”ll enjoy the art and tidy our wardrobes. 💐 X

Oh, Janice! I am so sorry you have the flu. I hope you feel much better soon! Rest and fluids…fluids and rest.

That being said, I am DIGGING these paintings. All of them are magnificent and you have taught me how to look deeply into the color palette and separate the ones that speak to me. I must say, being the color magpie that I am, the Matisse window and the Morris seedlings are drawing me in. I also love Mabel Royds’ Honeysuckle. I have never heard of her or seen her work, but I’d like to know more!

Thank you for creating our virtual museum tour!

One of the best things about Instagram is finding artists about whom I knew NOTHING, and growing to admire their work. The internet isn’t an entirely cold and evil wasteland!

I want wardrobes from Trees on Capri and Shinobazu Pond, or to be honest, any of the above!
Thanks for bringing more beauty into our lives.

Take care of yourself and wishing you a speedy recovery.

Thanks for all the artworks. I think that Bouquet des Fleurs would make a lovely scarf.

Hope you feel better soon! This has been a rotten year for flu. The Matisse makes me smile as soon as I see it. I also like the Liljefors. They are so different from each other.

Beautiful paintings, thank you. My favourites keep changing as well, lol. Matisse has always been a favourite of mine, Mabel Royds is new to me so happy to check her out.

Wishing you enough rest and a speedy recovery. Boo to flu.
Do you ever look at some paintings and wish you could have them in scarf form the way museum gift shops offer scarves from the exhibits? (Since our walls and wallets are already maxed out with affordable art we love.)

        scafos.com

You can upload images to their site, and they can make scarves in a bunch of different sizes and fibers. I’m going to be ruined…

Another dangerously awesome print your own option – contrado.com. they have a silk twill that i’ve been eyeing for some time. used them to print some ripstop nylon for presents & service was superfast. & gorgeous. (no affiliation, just a fan)

Get better soon. Drinking lots does help a little.
And please, if you ever feel to do a ‘Start with Art’ with the Winterlandscape with bullfinches, I would really appreciate this. I have both colors, rust in my autumn and grey in my summer wardrobe, but I have never mixed them. Maybe I will try, as summer is just around the corner. Thank you.
