Five More Colors from Pantone – Some of Them Are Repeats…

April 14, 2025

Big confession here – I’ve lost ALL TRACK of what colors came from New York Fashion Week (capitalized, of course!), and which came from London Fashion Week.

I’m not sure that it matters to us, frankly. I got to the point where I had so many files and tabs open that I despaired of my limited sanity, so I’ve just decided to carry on as if I know what I’m doing!

And yes, some colors appear on both lists. It’s interesting going BACK to a color after I thought I was quite finished with it…

But these are interesting, and all are lovely, depending on your taste. There’s someone for every color, I’m convinced!

I rather love this green; I see it with brown all year. The brown buttons on the cardigan help that thought. Or with white, in the hot weather?

Cardigan – Boden; jade earrings – seree; scarf – The Met Store; bag – Nur Karaata; sandals – Miz Mooz; linen shirt – Boden

This deep burgundy is lovely! For autumn, I would ALREADY start looking for pieces. If you like it now, you’ll like it in six months, I hope!

Earrings – The Pink Reef; quilted top – Lands’ End; bag – Apatchy London; socks – Alex Mill; cotton henley – L.L.Bean; ballet flats – Abeo

This is another color that would be great in cooler weather – bear in mind that Pantone has designated these as Autumn/Winter colors, so that makes sense. Picture this with winter white for the holiday season…

malachite earrings – Mirabelle Jewelry; scarf – Pashmisy; Cashmere vest – Alex Mill; cashmere cardigan – Alex Mill; bag – godi.; flats – SoftWalk

I feel like Poppy Red could be on every list, from every city, for every season. When would you NOT want to wear this, if you’re a red person?

Button-front top – Lands’ End; earrings – Ebru Jewellery; scarf – Talbots; jute bag – Brunna.co; cardigan – Boden; sandals – Open Edit

And more Hot Chocolate! I grown more and more fond of brown all the time – I just decided to pack my good brown sweater for our upcoming trip to Ireland…

Cardigan & pants set – Free People; earrings – Auree Jewellery; scarf – Delinor; sling bag – The Sak; sandals – Steve Madden

If I were looking for a new accent color, I’d be all about that Fig… Anything that calls to you?

love,

Janice

p.s. Ten years ago, I built a second wardrobe around a blue suede jacket – this one paired it with navy, and was for an imaginary trip to Paris… sigh…

Oh … perhaps I do like brown? The cardigan and pants set is really lovely!
And I like the Salted Lime a lot.
Hope you’re enjoying the packing process, Janice. All the best for your trip!

Thank you for showing us these colours. It would be nice to see them in the shops. From these I would choose Fig – a brownish purple. Although the description colours for each item are: Bordeaux, Port, Burgundy and Plum. If I’m filtering clothes by colour then I would have to click Purple and Red to pick up all of these shades. It would be nice to see a scarf with this collection just to give it some lift.

Kettlewell Colours usually has some clothes in Fig, but they don’t right now (they do have Prune though!) Maybe in the fall.

To me the fig just looks like a brown. But then again screens are not reliable and I have challenges with “seeing” shades. Generally I preferred the London colors, these are all very dark. It would have to be the Poppy Red (again) and perhaps the Salted Lime? Adore that scarf!

I think the fig and the dark green are lovely. If I were in need of an extra accent color, I would get 1 of each.

I like the green. The red is too bright and everything else is too dark.

Honestly, I love the repeats of Hot Chocolate and Poppy Red. They’re both luscious, fun and flattering. Why not repeat the best and leave the ones that don’t work? Frankly, I adore all of these color however, I think that the Magical Forest would be the toughest to find. Dark green is yummy and I’m truly digging this deep, dark shade, especially when I think of Fall and Winter. That being said, it’s tough to find pieces that are deeper than Hunter Green. I know–I’ve tried. Emerald is everywhere and Peacock is simple, as are Kelly, Hunter and Pine. But, darker? That’s the challenge.

This is a personal one for me, as I’m looking for a rich satin column gown in this very shade for my daughter’s October wedding. The bridesmaids will be in Navy satin sheaths, but my daughter would like the mamas (and the Nana) in deep, dark green to go with her upscale Maine coast venue. So….the hunt is truly on for a gown in these parameters in Magical Forest.

      Hello Ellen,
I actually have a few pieces in this beautiful color in my closet… from various labels.
I even have linen pants and a few colorful leaf-print tops for summer. I’m still looking for a nice dress.
I’m sure you’ll find something and shine at the wedding.

I’d call that dark green spruce green–dark with a bit of a blue cast. Definitely my favorite of these colors. Especially that handbag!
