Let’s check up on our heroine who is working with the most limited color palette this year. Short of wearing just ONE color, this is maybe as small a palette as you can get. Well, maybe not, but after the multiple accent colors of our other wardrobes, this one seems quite streamlined!
At the end of February our heroine had a nice twelve-piece wardrobe – it would make a great travel capsule wardrobe… I’m thinking a lot about travel right now!
Our heroine has decided to shift her focus to warmer weather – especially in order to grab the sandals that she’s wanted for a while! Yes, she won’t be able to wear them for weeks, but at least she’s not walking out of the store empty-handed when the weather finally warms up!
And, although her jewelry has been gold-based so far, she decided to grab these clover earrings in silver and orchid, because the color is so perfect for her… Nobody’s enforcing any laws about how your mix or don’t mix metals in your accessories!
Earrings – Donatello Gian; white tee shirt – J.Crew; grey sweatshirt – Lands’ End; pink amethyst tee shirt – Lands’ End; long narrow scarf – Tory Burch; white jeans – J.Crew; sandals – Sam Edelman
Her wardrobe now is really delightful, to me. I would scamper off with this in a suitcase and NEVER look back.
I particularly love the way her grey vest and grey cardigan share such a strong aesthetic…
Her Weekly Timeless Wardrobe grid makes sense – plenty of cold-weather gear, but a couple of warm weather things that she added today. In theory, next month we will see LOTS of Spring and Summer garments added to every wardrobe.
And what will she do with her four new pieces of clothing? Oh, so many things!
I love the berry and orchid accents – I could live in this wardrobe during a quite long trip and always be happy!
love,
Janice

p.p.s. This is timely! Speaking of monochromatic wardrobes, ten years ago the wardrobe of the day was based on an Ansel Adams photograph of a rose. Shades of grey and white… it looks like the post was originally in color and then shown in black & white!

Beautiful colors.
And in contrast to yesterday, I can well imagine wearing only these colors for a while. Also because I already own a pair of berry pants. By the way, I only carry two bags every six months, but I have a lot of scarves.
I fancy the clover earrings in tigers eye. Gray and lilac is so pretty together.
This is such an excellent example of how maintaining discipline about your palette gives you such mileage.
I love this wardrobe! This one is my favorite by far. Gray is one of my core colors already and I love the plum, burgundy, etc, color. Keep it coming!
This is such a pretty wardrobe. As I’ve mentioned no shade of purple works for me, but one of my mom’s best friends has the most gorgeous and twinkling blue eyes and the most striking shade of grey hair and it looks like magic on her. For people for whom this cool combination works, it’s nothing short of divine.
As I was browsing through Talbot last night, I saw these shoes, which I thought would be remarkable with this wardrobe. What do you all think?

Those shoes are the perfect colour and they have very reasonable heels. Well spotted!
This wardrobe just gets better and better. Love the colors and the combinations.
Those lilac shoes look perfect to me
.
I am loving this one! I am drawn by the simplicity of color. My wardrobe is in various shades of blue anchored in navy with a few pink and white accents. I can follow this heroine pretty easily by substituting the grays with blues. I would love to add more pink whenever Lands End introduces it into their fine gauge cotton cardigan and turtleneck. I pretty much stick with cotton garments and I really like LE fine gauge. Those pink clover earrings are calling my name!
I would like to see and difference in wardrobe colors as a warm person goes to cool colors due to letting hair go grey. any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
There’s a few folks across the internet that touch on this, but this one comes to mind…

This is very pretty – I agree with AK about discipline with a palette giving you mileage. Not that I practice that idea. I have managed to keep myself to three “main” colors and a couple of “accent” colors. That’s the best I can do!
That look back grey wardrobe is incredible! That would be me in another much more elegant life.
I like this wardrobe a lot, and grey is one of my neutrals, but I have realized that it works better for me to split my accent colors and have fewer pieces of each one. I love these purple/berry accents, but in my own closet I also have slate blue or pine green available to wear with the grey pants.
This will be my favourite. These colours are perfect on me. I could easily wear grey, lilac and plum all year round. Looking at the WTW chart, I can see a flannel shirt and textured tops have been ticked off but can’t identify I’m looking forward next month.
Thinking back to yesterday, I saw an very elegant lady today in top to toe ivory and cream. She looked amazing. She wore a long cream wool coat over a cream cable knit polo neck jumper and long pleated ivory skirt, cream ankle boots and a pale beige handbag. She had long blonde wavy hair too. Stunning.
OK, Janice, cut it out! You are a seducer. Seductress? I have lots of gray that is calling out for those berry colors! They are so pretty together! No no!
