I’ve been in New York.
I managed to fall Saturday night, and am now struggling to move around.
We are heading back to Chicago, a day late…
Tomorrow will be dedicated to an emergency clinic visit, and some pain medication. I hope!
Love,
Janice
Oh no! Please take as much time as you need and don’t worry about us. Praying your doctors can help.
Yikes! So sorry that you hurt yourself, especially on vacation. I hope some rest and a doctor’s visit has you feeling better.
Janice, I can totally relate. I fell in May and suffered a concussion and a slight leg injury. Sending good wishes that any of your fall-related injuries are minor, and that you’re in good standing for Paris !! 🥰
I am so very sorry to hear of your plight. Hoping you can be comfortable on the plane and even better thereafter!
Get well soon! Best wishes from the Isle of Wight, England.
Ow!!!!!
(Gravity still works. I proved it in late June with a leg compression sleeve for 3 weeks.)
Rest and heal. Be patient with yourself.
Get well for your upcoming trip! Your loyal tribe will be waiting for your return.
Yes. Your loyal tribe will be here waiting for your return.
Oh, dear!

That’s rough! I’m wishing you the best for your emergency clinic visit.
Also – thank you so very much for yesterday’s fabulous post. Studying the art and reading all the comments will keep me occupied for quite a while. Please don’t feel pressured to get back to work until you’ve healed enough.
Hoping you get some rest and wishing you a speedy recovery!
Oh, Janice I am so sorry! Sending all my love and prayers!
Ouch. Hoping and praying that you can control the pain and recover quickly.
Oh, that’s not good! Hopefully all will be ok with some rest and TLC – a very rough time for you!
I fell in September with no real injury, but falling as we age (Janice and I are the same age) is a real concern. Prayers for a quick recovery!
Oh dear! I hope you get well quickly and the meds work to ease the pain in the meantime.
Oh no! Wishing you a speedy recovery and wonderful medical care.
So sorry you got hurt.
Look after yourself and take all the time you need.
Oh no!! I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope the clinic visit goes well and you get all the help you need. We will be here for you as you get all healed up!
Aww no!!!! I’m so sorry you’re going through this, Janice!!
Sending you virtual hugs and flowers for effective treatment, pain management and a speedy and comfortable recovery!
❤️🩹 💐
How awful, and I know falling can be such a shock to your confidence too. I hope you are all better soon!
Oh dear, that happens so quickly.
I wish you a speedy recovery.💐

Oh, no! Hugs and comfort, Ardyth Eisenberg
Oh I’m so sorry! Your health comes first. I hope the healing goes well. Take good care and feel better soon!
Sending love…💜
Janice, I’m so incredibly sorry. I have taken two bad falls this year, both in airports on my way to somewhere far away. Traveling is great fun, but it’s also stressful and fitting in medical appointments makes it even tougher. Heal quickly, take arnica and stay well, my friend.
So sorry. Hope you feel better soon. Xoxo
Oh my goodness
Please take care of yourself
Keeping you in my thoughts and hoping you get some relief from the pain. Don’t give your posts a second thought. We will be fine
Sending you good wishes for a quick recovery. Take care of yourself. We’ll be here waiting for your return.
Oh no! Wishing you a speedy recovery!
Easy does it and take all the time you need! We are patient followers ❤️🙏🏼😊
Sending healing thoughts and wishes for a speedy recovery. Hang in there!
Oh gosh! Take care and here’s to quick healing!
I can sympathize having had a couple of nasty falls myself. Your priority is your recovery. Feel better soon.
Sorry to hear of your mishap. You are too young to “manage to fall”or “had a fall”! I was told off by my physio when I said that, after breaking my elbow last year. I recommend hot showers/baths with bath salts for relaxation, ice pack for inflammation, gentle exercises to keep moving, magnesium oil massaged into the aches and Arnica cream for bruises. Hope you feel better soon. Hugs x
THIS. Do take care, take your time to heal & recover, but keep the gentle exercise to keep moving – bug your doc for a physical therapy script if needed. The biggest risk as we age is damage due to the recovery time, not even the fall itself. Sending hugs Janice, and best wishes for a swift recovery and a reduction in pain!!
So sorry! Been there, done that. Broke an ankle. Please do take the self-care time you need! Your loving followers are sending healing prayers and hugs. In the meantime, I’m not the only one who will go back to post archives with my favorite colors
Falls are no joke, especially as we age. We can wait for you to heal. Please take care of yourself.
Sending you wishes for a speedy recovery from DC! Your posts brighten my day so much.
Thank you!
Sending wishes for a fast recovery, Janice!
Hope you heal quickly
You have had a year! I hope you heal quickly and completely – we’ll be here, pouring over older posts, waiting for you. Take care of you.
Holding you up in prayer. Heal quickly! 🙏🏻
Get better quickly – remembering ‘more haste less speed ‘ !
Oh Janice! Wishing you the best possible outcome with quick healing!
Camille
I’m so sorry you fell! And when out of town too. Sending you loving and healing thoughts for a quick recovery. Do whatever you need to do to get through this. We’ll be here whenever you’re ready. 😉
Oh no! I did this last year and managed to sprain my ankle and tear a tendon… months in a boot + PT. Like everyone else said – take care of you, get better, and we’ll be here whenever you are ready to post again! Sending hugs! 🤗
P.S. an warm epson salt bath always seems to help for me.
Be sure to get thoroughly scanned. My neighbor, a guy in his 40s, fell down the stairs. He thought he was just bruised up. A week later he had a stroke, from a clot that had traveled to his brain.
Dear Janice,
You are in my prayers. Be careful getting back home.
Love,
Marilyn
Belovedest put us in First Class for the relatively short flight – he knows how to spoil me! It was a bit of a white knuckle trip, still…
love,
Janice
Oh no! Sending healing vibes so you feel better quickly!
I hope you feel better soon! I tripped in a hole last weekend and had to warn my 80-year-old mom NOT to help me up. I didn’t want to pull her down with me! By the end, we were both giggling and hobbling to the car and cursing our guys who did not come to the rescue.
Oh no, sending healing thoughts your way. Take as much time as you need to heal.
I hope you heal quickly and fully!
Oh no! Feel better soon, and I hope the trip home isn’t too uncomfortable. Here’s to a very speedy recovery, and please don’t worry about posting. We’ll sit tight and send healing thoughts.
Sending lots of love to you Janice.
May I also post a gentle reminder that while we all have occasional trips or slips, often the difference between a close call and disaster is core strength and working on balance. As we age we lose some of our brain body connection and it takes specific practice to keep those pathways working or to compensate for diminished neural connection between our brain and body. We need to be strong enough and connected enough that when we trip, we hopefully escape a fall. So ladies, be sure you are working on balance and core strength.
Love to you all. It is so nice to be connected with this lovely community.
So true! I’m normally pretty coordinated, and have excellent balance. (I brush my teeth while standing on 1 foot, with my eyes closed…)
But I can’t REMEMBER falling – I remember walking into the bathroom at 4 a.m. – I was sober, wide-awake, and knew exactly where I was. The next thing I know, the room is spinning, and I’m flying through the air. I can’t quite BELIEVE that I flew through the air, but that’s a wee bit that I recall. And then I am on my hands and knees on the bathroom floor, calling for Belovedest to come shepherd me back to bed. I crawled. Since then, I’ve been having back spasms on top of the damage from the fall. I see to have bumped myself on the FRONT of my ribcage on the right, the side of my ribs on the left, and a really whalloping smack on the back of my ribs on the right. But no bruises!
I deserve large, lurid, vividly colored and frighteningly textured bruises…
hugs,
Janice
Oh no! How awful!
Maybe blood pressure or heart related? So many body systems can affect us in so many crazy ways.
Great tip about finding ways in our daily routine to work on balance and core strength. All those short bursts of practice really add up.
And of course, despite our best efforts, sometimes, s!!t happens.
Love to all
Annie
Ow! Safe travels, and I hope you can get the care you need quickly.
So sorry to hear. Thinking good thoughts for no serious injury. Take care 💕
Janice, I hope your injury is something minor and doesn’t cause too much inconvenience! Don’t worry about us readers, we ‘ll wait!
Oh no! So sorry to hear of your fall – it is so disconcerting when we lose our balance in seemingly daily tasks. Sending you wishes for a quick and pain free recovery.
So sorry to hear this Janice . Sending you love and best wishes for a speedy recovery , from London, England. ❤️🩹
Celia
sending best wishes for as quick and comfortable a recovery as possible! 💜
Sorry this happened to you. Take care, good wishes for a quick and easy recovery. From NZ
Yikes! Hope it’s not too serious. Thinking of you and wishing you a full recovery. ❤️🩹
Gosh, Janice, I hope you got checked out thoroughly. Not only for the resulting injuries but why you can’t remember falling! Wishing you some excellent pain meds and a speedy recovery.
I second Kim’s hope that you get checked out thoroughly by your doctor.
Agreed, everything should be checked- although, sometimes falling happens so quickly, your brain doesn’t really have time to register “experiencing” it in real time. on the other hand, sometimes we fall almost in slow motion … having experienced both, it can be quite disconcerting (how am I in the air? and then landed with a THUD), but also pretty normal based on the speed.
Praying for your complete and swift recovery! And no encore!
Sending you hugs and healing thoughts. Hope all goes well with the visit to the doctor. Take the time you need; we will all wait for you until you feel able to share more of your wisdom with us.
Do take care and get well soon!
😱😱😱
Falling is the worst! Wishing you the very best and a speedy recovery, Janice!
