I like both of these outfits. The striped turtleneck under the dress screams Parisian to me (but what do I know, I’ve never been to Paris!) :)

I’ve been to Paris maybe… 50? times, and I’ve never noticed that Parisiennes wear stripes more than the rest of us. But I always FEEL more French when I wear stripes. It’s a pretty strong stereotype!

I’m planning on doing a 30 day wool dress challenge starting next weekend – but I work full time and am curious to know how this will go when I see the same people every day. There are only so many ways I can make the dress look different after all! I notice you don’t have that issue so many outfits look similar, not a criticism just wondering how it would work for those of us in a different situation.

I love that shade of purple. Soft but enough saturation to get noticed. Another thing I’ve noticed are pinafores or sleeveless dresses, perhaps because you are doing this challenge and showing us how many different ways that they can be worn, particularly as layering. I think we shall all be layering up this winter in the UK because heating will be so expensive. I’m already wearing three layers. As long as my feet and legs are warm, then I feel warmer.

      I just ordered fleece-lined high-top tennies from Cariuma – I’m very optimistic!

I love my two pairs of Cariuma. One pair in cream and one pair in Kelly green. Basic summer sneakers for walking around. So fun.

This is for Beth T based on comment re keeping feet warm. My solution for winter has been to invest in cashmere and wool blend knee high socks like the ones I remember from childhood…except that then the socks were Sears acrylic. I’ve done 3 winters with these socks & they are great. Can’t remember the brand, but they are machine washable, very soft & made in Italy. Not sure if that would work for you, but may be worth a try.

They sound marvellous. Unfortunately real wool makes me itch next to my skin. I do wear thermal socks and double-layer socks. I also wear borg lined socks in bed when it’s really cold!
