Can I wear Black and Orange and not look like Halloween?

June 20, 2017

Of course!

black and orange travel outfit

tee – L.L.Bean; earrings – Shana Gulati; pants – Uniqlo; cardigan – Olive + Oak; scarf – Nordstrom; watch – Movado; flats – Eileen Fisher; tote – Street Level

Flash back to one of my favorite posts – based upon a montage of images of a lunar eclipse, and see how just the right shades of orange can look great with black! Do notice the way the accessories echo her affection for the moon – moonstone jewelry, a single round button on a sweater, the round face of her watch (accented with a round gold dot!)…

love,
Janice

I like this one also. It has a very elegant & sophisticated air about it.

This is one of my favourite posts, ever. To me, it doesn't really look orange – and I guess coral is really a kind of orange. Whatever colour it is, I love this one! Any chance yo might flesh it out into a bigger wardrobe? Would love to see that, Janice. And thanks for revisiting these posts – they merit more attention!

It's more orange than anything else! But I want to encourage people who like a particular color to think about all of the possible variations that might be available to them, and be more flattering, or easier to wear.

      A bigger wardrobe… hmmm… sounds fun!
      hugs,

Janice, this is my all-time favorite post, as I've already said. I second the notion of fleshing this out to a bigger wardrobe. Pretty Please :)

I love looking back through your posts! The one where she goes to the farm for the weekend took my eye this time as we are going on a similar trip this weekend.
