Want to See a Really Adorable Scarf?

May 12, 2017

I plain and simply can’t do the New York shoes today – I had a bunch of broken hyperlinks to fix on yesterday’s post, and I’m feeling distinctly horrid. (I have a chronic pain condition that I’ll tell you all about some day…)But I have to share this with you; last night, Belovedest comes into the apartment after work carrying a gift box. Now, my birthday isn’t until the last part of June, but he tells me that he has an early gift for me…

Paris souvenir scarf – Echo

We’re going to Paris in September for HIS birthday, but you can bet your bottom dollar that this scarf is going to be in my bag! It’s not a Hermès (thank heavens, they can’t all be that outrageous!), but it’s lovely quality silk, nicely printed, with cheerful images and absolutely delightful colors. I will wear it with black and white (of course), but it would be lovely with any spring or summer colors. It also comes with a light blue border that has a lot of very warm blush and soft orange flowers, as well as touches of turquoise and cobalt…

I will treasure it. Belovedest is so good to me…

I promise that the New York shoes will be with us on Monday. Thanks, as always, for your endless patience with me and my occasionally erratic work schedule!

much love to all,
Janice

What a lovely, thoughtful gift! Hope that you feel better soon.

PS How about a capsule based around this scarf? I'd like to see it with navy, soft orange and turquoise amongst other colours – mainly because I have those colours in my wardrobe!

Sue, I'm pretty sure it's the Echo scarf in Tuesday's, May 9 "How Can You Pack a Foolproof Travel Wardrobe? Use the Whatever's Clean System!" (not the KathKath, but in the "In Transit"–the link's broken–but I kept hunting for it–available from Zappo's in black, and Lord & Taylor in both the black and light blue)

It is indeed the same scarf – that was the day that I found it and sent a link to Belovedest so that he could see it too. He's actually quite a scarf fan, and it was… a little bit of a hint!
      hugs,

How lovely!! What a fantastic scarf to wear in the spring to celebrate the return of color. And to wear in the winter when everything is gray and cold. I do hope you find some comfort and relief from your pain. Hugs.

Thank you for showing this scarf – I loved it so much I bought it for my upcoming milestone birthday present. It's just the thing to remove any megrims about turning 50.
How lovely that after some time following your blog, curating my clothes and adding only key pieces there was room in the clothing budget for a splurge of this nature. On the days when you are feeling blah, know that on the other side of the world in Australia this woman is thankful for your words of wisdom and inspirational images

Oh days when you're feeling blah, remember that there's a crazy lady up in Chicago who gets up early to make pretty things just for you to see! And who sends you hugs….
