Start with Art: Lucy Hessel at the Seashore by Edouard Vuillard

June 4, 2014
My readers have the very best taste; this painting was sent to me to consider for a “Start With Art”, and I thought the colors were so beautiful! The mood of this painting – languid, soft, dreamy, relaxed – made me think of a honeymoon, or a second honeymoon…

These were my color choices:

Linen dress – Rose a Pois, sleeveless top – Dries van Noten, shorts – Closed

Silk dress – Hallhuber, silk cardigan – Tsumori Chisato, tee shirt dress – Mint Velvet

camisole – Dorothy Perkins, silk shorts – A.P.C., silk top – Dolce & Gabbana,  capris – Dondup

Cardigan – Mango, earrings – Allurez, bracelet – Shaun Leane, tee – Uniqlo, scarf – Front Row Society, espadrilles – Stuart Weitzman, bag – Ina Kent, gold sandals – Ancient Greek Sandals, green sandals – Lucky Brand

If you wanted to pack for a second honeymoon, you could certainly do worse than this!

As always, a well-chosen handful of outfits selected with a unifying theme will give you lots of options.

love,
Janice

As always, lovely choices. I like the inclusion of the dresses with the casual tops and bottoms. This is what I would pack for a vacation. Lots of activities during the day and a nice dinner in the evening.

So soft (in both color and texture), so pretty, so youthful, and so flattering. I love the floral theme picked up in necklace, muted scarf, and tee. A dreamy wardrobe, Janice.

I am in the process of laundering, ironing and culling summer clothes and this post inspires me to look at what I already own. The little bit of floral and the soft pinks and greens look so pretty.

Beautiful! I love pastels but rarely wear them. I don't know how to describe it well, but I look "silly" in them. Rich earth tones and the jewels for me.

I've been off the grid since January. Love your new mix of art, color & clothing. It sets a perfect mood.
