Capsule Wardrobe Project 333: Bracelets and Necklaces

October 14, 2013

Bracelets and necklaces are also items that absolutely nobody MUST have in their wardrobe; women have lived completely fulfilled and productive lives without them.  But for me, this is the core of what I will be wearing through the autumn and winter.Note that I wear both silver and gold, mostly because I have a Trinity ring as a wedding ring, and my watch has a yellow and white gold band.  As will ALL things style, your mileage may vary.

my core jewelry is a few years old and difficult to find.  Except, of course, anybody can scare up a nice strand of pearls.

Pearl bracelets – there are SO many beautiful ones available:

Majorica, Majorica, Majorica, Majorica, Majorica, CoriNa Madari, Givenchy

Pearl necklaces with some black detailing – I would buy two of these and layer them together:

Givenchy,  Givenchy, Alexis Bittar, Alexis Bittar

A nice simple gold necklace:

Alexis Bittar,  Lauren Ralph Lauren, LaurenRalph Lauren, Adami & Martucci

Pearls and gold together:

Anne Klein, Stephan & Co., Natasha Couture,  Majorica

And maybe a silver necklace too:

Adami & Martucci, Adami & Martucci, Lauren Ralph Lauren, Kendra Scott

love,
Janice

I hope you are having a great trip, Jan.

Jewelry, for me, is very important. It is my version of Legos for women. It was strictly out of scope for the 333 Project. I've been collecting nice pieces, one or two at a time, for 30 years.

I mix silver tones and gold tones frequently. I also put together colored stones that are unexpected. I had my grandmother's Majorca pearls restrung with accents of different colored, faceted sapphire beads, asymetrically placed throughout.

My jewelry and shoes are stars of my otherwise monochromatic (black or navy) apparel.

A gal can never go wrong with pearls!
Since I have let my hair go grey I find silver is very flattering…used to wear a lot more gold but after reading your post I think I'll mix up the metals!
Great jewelry here to tempt us Janice!

It's only been the few years that I've been wearing silver and gold together. It's been so liberating! I also believe it adds a little dash of the unexpected, and a fresh and modern twist, to an otherwise sedate wardrobe in my closet.

Thank you for sharing this…and I hope your trip is going well

I went to a wedding on the weekend and wore a simple black dress (30 years old) with gold and pearls.
I got so many lovely comments! Thank you, Trudy

Lovely pieces there! I particularly like the silver mesh one – I can see myself wearing that a lot, even though it's not in my normal style. Hmm… Christmas hints, perhaps?

“Bracelets and necklaces are also items that absolutely nobody MUST have in their wardrobe; women have lived completely fulfilled and productive lives without them.” – Haha, that’s coming from someone who owns a trinity ring and a few hard-to-find jewels. I know you’re kidding. For me, bracelets and necklaces are must-haves. So, if you have stuff you want to get rid of, feel free to sell it to me. :D Lorita @ BuyingValuables.com

Wow, cool post. I’d like to write like this too – taking time and real hard work to make a great article… but I put things off too much and never seem to get started. Thanks though.
