A Favorite Story...

This was one of the most popular posts I've ever written on The Vivienne Files - well worth a re-visit, I hope!

    1. Every time I check my top 10 posts for a day or week, this one is on the list! I think the painting is so evocative, but enigmatic, that it's worth a lot of thinking...

  2. This color scheme is truly fascinating: unusual and even a little striking, but when you look at it closely you realize that the clothes are still very basic. Even the deep orange that looks so bright is a basic fall accent color that returns every year. Only the Tyger Tyger scarf must now be hunted from second hand market.

    1. Blue and orange are classic - opposite each other on the color wheel, and thus made to go together. I don't know how readily available that particular scarf is, but Hermes is pretty faithful about keeping orange scarves in the current selection.

  3. I love this combination of colors - I often wear cognac + white with either black or navy. With this painting as an inspiration, I'd be tempted to pack at least one pretty print blouse or skirt (or dress!) - nancyo

  4. What else can you expect from a man wearing co-respondent shoes! Lovely colours in our resort lady's suitcase. Hope you're enjoying your break too.

    1. I would love a pair of those in black and white, even though I'm not quite sure I can picture myself wearing them...
