Tote Bag Travel Capsule Wardrobe in Teal and Jade

Subtle and dark, but NOT boring:

 Window Shopping

As soon as the weather is VERY cold, and the holiday decorations are everywhere downtown, she goes into the city...

She leaves her bag with the hotel staff, and then she walks, and walks, and WALKS... All alone, for hours...

Can anyone explain WHY this duffel bag is for men?

Then she goes back to the hotel, takes a long hot shower... Room service and a good book are her only companions...

What to pack for an overnight trip, in teal and shades of blue

The next morning, she's prepared for anything that the holidays can thrown at her; a little solitude and contemplation is good for the soul.

love,
Janice

  1. I love the thought of a little 'well dressed' escape :-)

  2. What a contrast to the previous scenario; A snug warm padded jacket in winter white could be a good addition to this set.

    1. Agree! Since she's out and about all day, I was fantasizing about the jacket! Love the winter white and maybe jade gloves?

  3. Definitely more of a waiting for the weather to get cold than for the holiday decorations to be out - they seem to try to start before Halloween anymore!

  4. These are not really my colors, but I would wear them if I could take this trip, because this is the overnight stay for me! My husband can never understand why I would want to just check into a hotel and do room service instead of going out to a fancy restaurant, but sometimes a little down time is an absolute necessity, especially if I have accompanied him to a conference and we have been socializing quite a bit. I just love the stories that accompany these wardrobes!

  5. By sheer coincidence I'm wearing these colours today! It has finally cooled down a bit so I can wear a sweater today (I've had the A/C back on for the past few days because it's been around 28C and humid!) here in Toronto.

As for Christmas Decorations - The BAY (our big dept. store) had their decorations out on Sept. 17th!!!! People were NOT amused and they've been getting a lot of negative feedback - just ridiculous.

A friend of mine used to do this sort of thing at least once a year - check into a nice hotel, book some Spa treatments and just relax in her room in her pjs with a good book - she said it was the perfect way to recharge.

  7. I really enjoy a hotel room to myself. It is such a luxury to slip into crisp sheets with a good book. These colours are favourites of mine. I am considering the LL Bean turtleneck.

  11. I'm envisioning a light tan short trench and teal gloves - would look great with either scarf .. that and a beige or black nylon Longchamp tote. I always take my Longchamp tote when shopping. Big enough for small folding umbrella and small purchases, etc and do light in weight! Also it folds up to tiny in travel bag.

  12. I am seeing the navy and teal. I am not seeing any jade on my monitor. What are you seeing in jade besides the color graph?

    1. The nightgown and robe are kind of jade, as is part of the scarf. That's what I'm seeing.

  14. Wonderful concept for a quick getaway. The wheels are spinning as I figure out how to pull off my own escape to solitude before the holidays. This is going to be fun!
