Choosing a Scarf: A Bright Summer Accent

Some of us aren't going to be wearing white all summer long, nor will pastel accessories work really well for everybody.  So I'm going to revisit the idea of buying a summer scarf, but this time working with a base of navy linen clothes...  The idea of picking up a couple of bright accessories to update my summer wardrobe is very tempting!

These are the scarves:

Red Cayenne linen blend scarf – Halogen, Blue Blithe linen blend scarf – Halogen, turquoise gem linen scarf – Halogen, gold shine linen blend scarf – Halogen,  pink cyclamen linen blend scarf – Halogen, blue royal linen blend scarf - Halogen

And the simple navy garments:

Never discount the merits of a cool pair of sunglasses, or a snazzy summer bag...

  1. Just wanted to thank you Janice and the community for this blog. I have recently found it and am in the process of going through older posts and even older clothes :-).
This advice with visuals is exactly what I've needed to pare down and get myself in order.

  2. You've done it again! Another pack of simply scrumptious accessories. I would happily wear all and any of those (except maybe the old gold/mustard colour - might not be so great for my colouring). Still, lovely stuff, well done.

  3. This is pretty much how I dress these days...a uniform neutral base with accessories on top! Love the colors you selected!

  4. These basics plus the white basic would make a great summer wardrobe starter...

  5. Just came back from a visit to Greenwich Village in NYC. It seemed like all the European women tourists had a scarf around their necks. They all looked very chic!

  6. I've heard others say this in the comments but now I'm joining them - this is my favorite post ever! This is just 'me'! I wear black a lot with wonderful colors. I was in Chicago last weekend wearing black pants, T and blazer with coral sandals and coral scarf. Simple. I got many compliments. So easy. so dramatic.
