Neutral Accessories: Earrings, Part 2

I love the subtle colors of some of these earrings - the brown diamonds are unexpected, and low-key, but very appealing...  And once you learn that certain semi-precious stones are perfect for your neutral color choices, your hunt for jewelry can be much more focused.

A couple of earrings here are gold, withOUT a stone of any sort, but I chose them because they felt like they had the right... aura?.. for the neutral in question.  Some colors are just plain difficult to find!

Smoky quartz drop earrings – Zayd Makarim,  mango wood fans – Pornpimon,  smoky quartz discs – Awadhesh,  smoky quartz studs – Lord and Taylor, tiger eyes silver discs – Caterina Butero, silver and mahogany earrings – Carlos Gonzalez, mahogany obsidian balls – Carmen Anocibar,  diamond and smoky quartz drops – Frederic Sage

Stone cluster earrings – Ann Taylor,  diamond studs – Blue Nile,  cabochon cluster earrings – Alexis Bittar,  bronze stud earrings – Upper Metal Class, carved gourd earrings – Fabiana Quispe, tiger eye button earrings – Carmen Anocibar,  horn pendant earrings – Warren and Robbin,  citrine and silver round earrings – Khun Boom

  3. I can't find any other location to ask this question, so I'll just do it here. I live 3 hours west of Chicago in Iowa and the shopping here doesn't have much to offer, especially in Petites which I usually need, especially in slacks/skirts. Can you recommend some stores with a good selection of the basic items in petites? I can usually find black separates here, but really would like to use gray & tan for my basic pieces. I think it would be worth the trip to get started on updating my wardrobe. Thanks!

    1. I like petites from Ann Taylor, Talbots and Banana Republic. If you can't find the exact piece in the store you can go online to find the right size/color. Sadly they just closed all the retail Talbots in my area.

  4. I wary about cognac diamonds. White diamonds are cut for brilliance and fire. Cognac diamonds cannot show fire, and the brilliance diminishes with darkness. They are marketed cleverly but often overpriced for what they are. I think I'd go fa juicy secondary gem like the gorgeous quartzes you've picked quartz or a generous gold earring first, unless my heart was stolen by a remarkable design.
